AP Discounts vs. Wedding Block discounts

The Annual Pass Holder Discounts for the summer have just been released.
Which is the better discount - AP or Wedding Room Block?

The Wedding discounts are about 30% off at convention-center Deluxes, 15% off at other Deluxes, less than 15% off at Moderates, and less than 10% off at Values.

I have no idea what the AP discount is - so which would be the better discount if going for the Wedding Block discount Value Resort at 10% and a Deluxe at 15% ?

Is the AP discount better?

You can find out what the AP Rates are by checking www.mousesavers.com, but you'll really need to call Disney to find out what's still available.

Your DFTW sales consultant can tell you the exact room block rate available at the resorts you want at the time you are going. And if you already have the Excel spreadsheet for doing your room block, the rates are listed on it.

Alternatively, Mousesavers lists the rack rates for all the Disney hotels, so you can look up the rate for each hotel during the time you're going and then subtract 15% for Deluxe or 10% (really, it's more like 8% or 9%) for Value to get a ballpark figure.

The rate for August/September this year is:
64 for value
89 for mod
139 for a deluxe (wilderness lodge/animal kingdom) others are higher priced.

this is what I get off the travel agent site. If you have a question on a certain resort and view let me know. I can look it up for you.

If you have already booked via the block don't cancel that ressie until you have secured your AP rate room (if the rate is better) to make sure you have a ressie. You can then add the confirmation numbers to your room block by working with your planner.

We found that our block rates were within a few dollars per night of the AP rate (in 2006) and at times our block was better so we decided not to stress over the AP rate party.
