AP Discounts in the Summer

After studying the discount history information available on the Mousesavers website, it appears that the most common discounts for July are the Florida Resident room only discount and the Annual Passholder room only discount.

I would like to hear from those who have used an AP discount at a deluxe hotel.

We already have ressies at our hotel of choice (AAA rate) and have prepurchased 10 day tickets. Can the discount be applied to already existing room-only reservations?

When the discount is listed just for 'select' resorts is it truly for select resorts (those Disney wants to fill rather than where I want to stay) or if I ask I can get other resorts?

When exactly do you need proof of the AP? Will a voucher work?

Thanks. I am hoping for a July code and want to be informed so that when and if something becomes available I am ready to act.

Yes, it can be applied to an existing room only. We paid right around $300 for the Poly using an AP rate 4th of july week. Actually, they didn't ask me for it when I checked in. I brought it to the counter the day we left

The rate was for all deluxes but not all were available for our date
