AP Discount?

We are DVC members and are heading back to DL in August. I've been wondering if it would worth it to get an AP instead of a 5 day hopper for me as we would be spending almost $300 on Photopass with the removal of the Photopass+ product which is more than half of the cost of the increase. If there is a DVC discount on the pass that would sway me even further especially since there's the merchandise discount as well.

TIA

The lowest priced AP does not include Photopass photos - to get the photos you have to buy at least a Signature Passport, it is $849 which is over $500 more than a 5 day Park Hopper - that is a lot of pictures and discounts!

How do you plan to spend $300 on photopass though, as if you are only there 5 days, at $39 per day, that is less than $200?

Are they still offering the photo CD? Or is that now officially gone just like the photo pass +?

We planned to do Character Meals on arrival and departure days, at $35/photo package that's $270.

My understanding is it's gone too. Plus it wouldn't include ride photos which we love.

The DVC discount off of a DL AP isn't that good. It's only $20.00 off of each pass. But, don't forget to condsider the food & merch discounts when buying an AP at DL, as they're considerable amounts. Dependent upon which pass you buy, you could getup to 20% off on merch which is way better than the standard 10% for being DVC.

And of course the real fun of buying an AP is the excuse to go back again before the year is over. I bought one thinking I'd fit 2 trips into the year & it's turned into 5. Especially if you're able to book VGC with your points, it's so easy to get away once you've got your tickets covered for the year. Throw in airfare paid for by Disney Visa reward & it starts to seem downright cheap.
