AP Discount Questions

I have a couple of questions regarding a possible AP discount.

There are 6 of us going to Disney next year. We will be in 2 rooms, possibly 2 different resorts. We will all be on the dining plan with 10 day hopper/water park tix.

1) If any room discounts come out for AP holders, and only I have an AP, Can I apply the discount to both rooms? (Same question if we are at 2 different resorts)

2) If I have an AP, will I be able to add the dining plan to my ressie, or do I have to buy another 1 day / 2 day TIX (Im not talking about free dining, I know, no double dipping!!)?

TIA!

I believe you can only apply the AP discount to the room you are staying in. Do a little bit of number crunching to see what the difference is between the price of the tix the others will have vs one person in the other room getting the AP & then also getting the AP discount for that room. It would all depend on the resort category. If you are staying in a deluxe resort, the discount could be 40%.
As for the dining plan, everyone in the room must be on the same plan. If you book your room as an AP you don't have to purchase a separate ticket. And if I remember correctly, as long as the room is booked as AP rate, nobody has to purchase tickets in order to get the dining plan. So basically as long as you have an AP you can all get the dining plan. Sounds a bit confusing, I know.:confused3

I just checked & there's a difference of less than $200 between a 10 day pass & an AP. Thats not much considering that you can save about $150 a night w/ the AP rate at a deluxe resort. Something to think about!

You can get up to 3 rooms with 1 ap discount - The AP holder just has to book the rooms for everyone but they can be under other people name. But I don't know about 2 different resorts. We were all staying at the same resort.

With the dining - each room can have just the dining plan added to their room - (they will have to buy tickets separately)

Hi!!! mmouse is correct. I have an AP and I can book up to three rooms with a discount. Also, when you book AP, you can add the dining plan with no ticket purchases. Have a great trip!!

Wow...that is great news. Back in 2010 they would not allow it. We were taking our DD and DSIL and staying at AKL Cl with a AP discount. I was told one discounted room per AP and that AP holder must be on the reservation. Both my DH and I had AP's so we put DD and myself on one room and DH and DSIL on the other. We were paying for both rooms. They didn't care who was "actually" staying in the room. Once we were checked in we all changed roommates. :rotfl:

It was the CM at reservation who suggested this to us as she could not book more than one room per AP. It will be easier to book in the furture with your new information.
