AP/DDE question

I was thinking of getting a new DDE card(I let mine expire without renewal). If I recall correctly, it is good for a one year period. I currently have an AP but it will expire before our trip in July. We booked the 4/3 offer so I was not going to renew the AP. Do you have to have an active AP to use the DDE card or is it just a year to date discount as long as you had an active AP at the time of purchase?

I'm not the expert here but my understanding is that the DDE (Tables in Wonderland) is valid through the expiration date on the card - you do not need an AP to use the TIW card. You do need an AP to purchase a TIW card unless you are a Florida Resident.

When I purchased my TIW card in January they said it would be good through the end of the following February (12+ months). My AP will actually expire on 12/31 so I'll have the TIW card for an additional 2 months - although I doubt I'll use it since I won't have a park pass.

I think you will be ok to use your TIW card w/o a valid AP.

The DDE (aka Tables in Wonderland) card has its own expiration date. Look at your card and you'll know if it's still valid. You don't have to show the AP when using the card, but I have been asked for ID.

It should work. We have never been asked for the AP when using the old DDP.

Interesting Tidbit. I was listening to one of the podcast and they figured out that you would have to spend $500 during the year period to get your $100 membership fee back. Yes if you have an AP it is now $75. You only need to provide this information when you renew, not when you use the card at the restaurants.

We paid $60 for our TiW in December and by the time we completed our 4 night mini-vacation we had gotten our money back (meaning that we had spent over $300). Keep in mind that the TiW takes 20% off of food and all beverages. That really helps when you order a bottle of wine with dinner. We'll be going back three more times while our TiW is still valid so we're really pleased with the money that we'll be saving. On one trip we'll have DS and DDiL with us and on another trip 6 other relatives. Since the TiW is good for up to a party of 10 we'll be saving quite a bit.

Thanks for your collective answers! I think I'll go ahead and purchase a new card. I let it lapse over a year ago because we had free dining our last trip. We'll easily spend enough on food for the week to make our money back.
Thanks again!
