AP Codes using TA vs Getting Code Youself

Just curious. Many people who booked using one of the Disney travel agencies such as DU appear to have been able to snag AP discounts for their dates. Do you think that these TA get first dibs on codes? When I called at 7:30 am. I was told no AP codes. When I called again at 1:00 the CM I talked to made an interesting comment that the AP rates were not available to 'THE PUBLIC' until 8:00. Do you think that the period of 7:00 to 8:00 was reserved for TA calls to change rates from rack or AAA to AP rates. If so, maybe I will have to re-consider my next trip and go with DU since people have such good things to say about them.

I put all my quotes into DU and they always get the rate. That way I don't bother having to stress about calling while at work. Cathy Miller has gotten back to me several times today with my questions. You can still go with DU, if you have a ressie you can transfer it to them. They are great at getting PS's also. I would never use a traditional TA, they just don't specialize and know their stuff like DU does. My first choice resort was booked, but I know DU will continue to work on getting it.

We don't use a travel agent, and we got the AP rates at about 7:45 yesterday morning....our first call, CM gave us the rates right away, no questions asked.
