My DD's school calendar for 2004-2005 was just released and she has a 3-day Fall Break at the end of October (Wed-Fri). We thought *maybe* we'd take advantage of the break and head to WDW. We went last October and attended MNSSHP for the first time and really enjoyed it. (We used the FairyTale Package.)

My question is - what kind of "room only" discounts were offered for the Polynesian (GV, non-concierge) last year in October? We're looking to see if we can financially squeeze in this trip - we bought a new house last year and we are paying off some expenses related to that - and the room rate we get could make or break the deal. We always stay at the Poly and if we can't get a good rate for October we'll just go when we'd originally planned - June 2005. :sunny:

Thanks!
Debbie

AP codes for that time have not come out yet. You can check mousesavers.com for the historical times they are released - I think maybe August?? (remember, they are not a definate gauranteed thing) We are also going for 10 nights in October and plan to see the MNSSHP for the 1st time. I booked our room at WL with a AAA rate and if the AP rate comes out I will change it. I would book now with whatever room you could afford without the AP code and then change or apply the code when it comes out.

Thanks renniks.

Maybe I'll book our room and if a code comes out I'll apply it. I was able to do that in Oct '01 and Sep '02 .... it sure is nice to get those discounts! I didn't pay attention to "room-only" discounts last October since we used the FTP. I'll snoop around mousesavers and see what I can find.

:D

We are booked at the yacht club and I'm hoping for a nice discount for November ( but not counting on it)
My question is.. if I see an AP code come out can I go and get an Ap (voucher) and apply the discount? I don't want to get an AP unless it will be worth it so I wouldn't get one unless a code came out.

I asked this question a couple weeks ago... Here you go.

>>>WDW Annual Passholders can ask for Code *** and get special discounted rates at select Walt Disney World resorts for check-ins 10/2/03-11/24/03 and 11/28/03-12/26/03. Discounts range from approximately 30-45% off regular rack rates. Availability seems to be very limited, particularly for October -- you may need to be flexible about dates and/or resorts to take advantage of these rates. Note that these dates include Value, Regular and Holiday seasons, so rates for the same hotel will vary widely. Some reported rates:
· All Stars - $49 standard (Value and Holiday season), $69 standard (Regular season)
· Moderates - $79 standard (Value season), $89 king (Value season), $99 standard (Regular season), $109 king (Regular season), $140 Coronado junior suite (Regular season)
· Animal Kingdom Lodge - $109 standard (Value and Holiday season), $129 standard (Regular season), $149 pool view (Value season), $165 pool view (Regular season), $154 savannah view (Value and Holiday season), $179 savannah view (Regular season), $209 deluxe savannah view (Value season), $249 concierge (Value season)
· Wilderness Lodge - $109 standard (Value season), $125 woods view (Value and Holiday season), $140 courtyard view (Value and Holiday season), $165 courtyard view (Regular season), $219 concierge (Value season), $259 honeymoon room (Regular season)
· Ft. Wilderness Cabin - $134 (Value season)
· Contemporary - $229 tower (Value season), $249 tower (Regular season)
· Boardwalk/Beach Club/Yacht Club - $174 standard (Value season), $209 water view (Value season), $294 concierge (Regular season)
· Polynesian - $170 garden view (Value season), $204 garden view (Regular season), $235 garden view concierge (Value season), $285 lagoon view concierge (Value season)

You don't need the AP or even the voucher when you book your room using an AP code. You will need it upon check-in. If a code comes out, call and book using the code and get your AP before you leave for your trip :)

Thanks Luv2trav - that's just the info I needed. If we can get the $204 GV rate I think the trip will be a go. :teeth:

Thank you
I was hoping it would be that easy. I'll wait and see and if I hear anything and it's worth it I'll get the Ap.
Another question...... I have an old ( in the 90's) 5 day pass with 4 days on it. Can I put this towards an AP? I know I can put it towards a regular hopper but I didn't know about a pass.

The way I understand it is that you can upgrade from a Hopper to an AP. If you used the Hopper, however, the AP clock starts from the first day you used your Hopper. So, in your case, you're out of luck since the AP pass would have expired years ago.
