I've heard DL does AP anniversary after hour parties when you near your expiration date. We expire early in Feb - has anyone heard of one coming up?

They started in 2014 to encourage renewals. The last two I've been to in April and November they didn't even have renewal carts up. They were telling people to come back during regular hours. It makes me wonder if they will continue it. I believe that the November event was announced 2 1/2 weeks in advance and included APs valid through the end of January. If they continue the events next year I'd expect it to be at the end of the month and announced with the same 2 week notice. But I was a little surprised that they continued the parties after the first year. With the construction happening next year, if they do after hours events most of them will probably be in DCA.

As mentioned they are not announced until very close to the date. They are also usually on a weeknight from 11pm-2am or other such nonsense. I guess I'm getting old, but the thought of having to stay up until 2am does not appeal to me at all. I understand why they can't do these during normal hours, but they end up being useless to me because I have this thing called a job that I actually have to be at at 8 am the next day.

We were there in November when they had the last one. We just happened to go for the night for my husband's birthday. We tried to find out when the next one was because our passes expire in late Feb. and they only have them maybe once a quarter. We went to town hall to ask when the next one would be, but of course in true Disney style, no one knew. They said we would get a post card in the mail. If they don't have one before our AP's expire, I find that a little upsetting.

The AP holders got a 60th anniversary cinch sack and a free Photopass 5x7 picture. Not sure if they received anything else.

At the last few I've been to if you weren't in line for something after the first 30 minutes you weren't going to do much anyway. We just did a photo op, a ride and left long before 1am. There have actually been a few Twitter promotions for after hours events. I went to one of those and there were a lot less people and was more enjoyable.
