I am planning on buying 4 AP's. I will be getting them from the Disney Store so I will only have the voucher. Will I start getting the Mickey Monitor after I buy the vouchers or do I have to have the AP's activated to start getting it?

If this isn't the right place to post this, please feel free to move it as I was unsure where to post it. Thanks in advance!!

I know they only come out certain times of the year but you'd have thought you would have gotten one by now. Hopefully you get it soon,

My experience with the Mickey Monitor is you only get it after you activate the Annual Pass with a long lead time (and then, it seems--only if you are lucky :) ).
Mickey Monitor comes out 4 times a year. I received my last one the first part of November. I think there should be another one out soon.

since they actually need your name and address to send you the monitor and they don't ask for this information until you activate them, I am going to go with: you won't get the monitor until you activate the pass.

I'm not sure how they decide who will get the Mickey Monitor. In August of 2001 we bought APs for myself and my husband. Our three grown children and two spouses and one child also bought APs. Out of the total of 7 adults and 1 child only two of us ever received the Mickey Monitor. Their system for getting people into the system for this is evidently not very good. My husband and I got APs again last November and still have not received the Mickey Monitor.

I purchased and activated two annual passes in August of 2002. I have yet to receive a Mickey Monitor. :(

The current Mickey Moniter used to be posed in a few different places. Anybody have a link or know where to find it? I won't be buying my passes for another couple of months, just curious about the current room benefits, etc. Do you still get 10% off an Epcot sit down lunch? Thanks!

Yep, you still get 10% off certain restaurants in Epcot for lunch (most of the table service ones). And I actually did ask the question about the Mickey Monitor while renewing an annual pass over the phone- the CM told me that you DON"T receive the Mickey Monitor unless the pass is activated, even if it's a renewal voucher. Even though that their computer shows that you've paid to renew, the Mickey Monitor will stop unless the pass is activated at WDW. I also thought that you were only supposed to get one per family, but can't confirm that rule. And, it is a long lead time before the first one may arrive, as it can take months to get on the list once you activate, and if your name isn't on the list by a certain date, then you won't get one until the next time. You do, however, get one more after your pass expires. Also there may have been some confusion and mistakes and things on the last one in November, as I believe different types of passholders got different Mickey Monitors (just to make things more confusing LOL)- one of my friends got a different one than I did, so I know this happened. Anyway, I bet they'll probably have their act more together by the time this next one comes out.

tink2dw...............Thanks for that post and link

Thanks for all the posts. It sure does take a ong time to actually startgetting it.

The next issue will be out in February. The Mickey Monitor is always released in February, May, August and November.

I wonder why some people don't get their MM's. I've had an AP almost continuosly from the fall of 1998 and never missed one. I wonder if the cm doesn't bother keying in the address when they are activated or keys it in incorrectly.

We had an AP for our daughter a couple of years ago. I phoned the AP dept and asked them to add my daughters name to the mailing list. We got them all after that. I didn't bother last year with our AP's as you can read all the info online. However you do miss out on any vouchers begin given out.
