AP and how they work

This is our first year getting the annual passes. We were formally Disney Club members and got a discount with that but someone mentioned the AP and that we would get a discount on the resort using the AP. Does anyone have an idea about how much? I read on this site from other Disney AP users that rates aren't always posted until certain times. We are booked to go in May and don't know when would be the best time to call to see what type of discount we would get. Any help would greatly be appreciated!

The discount could be as much as 35-45%!! Check this site and mousesavers.com daily for AP codes. Codes for May might not be released until April (based on last years release), but you never know.
