Maybe this is dumb. We are thinking of getting PAP this year, but I have been reading posts of AP holders purchasing the DDE. Just wondering if the regular aps or paps do not offer the regular dining discounts like they did in the past. Can someone enlighten me. Thank you.

Just wondering if the regular aps or paps do not offer the regular dining discounts like they did in the past.

They do, but; as an AP/DVC'er I purchased the DDE because of the following:

1) DDE extends the discount to breakfast/lunch and dinner at all of it's participating locations. vs the AP offer few breakfasts and far fewer locations for dinner (if you do sit downs mostly)

2) DDE extends the discount to include alcoholic drinks, which can add up fast, on a good bottle of wine.

Nothing wrong with the AP (or DVD) discount(s). It just depends on how often you visit/for how long and if you do alot of sit downs. With your AP discount in purchasing the DDE, once you've spent $ 250 in food you'll have paid for the $ 50 DDE purchase.
