I need opinions....August will be our third trip to Disney. The first two trips we stayed at moderate resorts (CBR and CS). We are currently booked at AoA in a Little Mermaid room. There are four of us and the kids are 12 (boy) and 9 (girl). Are we going to feel like we are down-grading to go to a value resort after doing moderate before? DH thinks we are paying enough as it is and doesn't want to change resorts if we have to pay more but if a deal comes through where it's comparable, should we consider POR or POFQ?

I stayed at AofA last fall and loved it; my friend stayed at POR for the same trip and hung out at AofA with us most of the time when we weren't at the parks. The rooms are kind of small and the Little Mermaid rooms are a bit of a walk, but it was just my daughter and I. Wasn't crazy about the exterior facing doors, but didn't feel unsafe, but you hear doors opening and closing throughout the evening.

Thanks for the input. I've been hearing a lot of people say the rooms are small. I know we would love the resort and theming but don't want to feel let down after staying at moderates before.

We stayed at Little MermAid in December 2012. Very nice, but the walk from the rooms to the buses was far especially after walking the parks all day. Disney told my husband they are aware of these concerns and are looking into solutions it was decorated awesomely! We have stayed at French Quarters and Pop as well, loved them both.
