I can’t believe I’m struggling so hard over this. I’m giving myself a 40th bday trip. My daughter who will be 6 will be with us for the whole trip. My son who will be 18 then is coming just for a long weekend. When he leaves we are checking into a studio at AKL, so I’m trying to decide between these two resorts for the first 4 days. We likely won’t be back to Disney for a couple years because we have a vaca to Italy for the next year already planned. I know she’d love the theming at AOA. I know I’d love the view and the food at CSR LOL. I’m kinda afraid if we don’t get back there until she’s 8 or 9 she’ll be over the theming and something like a little mermaid room won’t excite her. But the double bed thing is not attractive and the family suite is ridiculously priced (IMO). What would you do?

ETA going in February and not sure how warm it will be for swimming since they already canceled mermaid school!

I second Disneylover99. Your 6 yo will be happy just being at Disney regardless of the resort. Even staying in the best rooms at the best resort is not the same as the time spent in the parks for little kids. So, I would just stay where you want to.

Stay at AoA and resort hop over to CSR if the food is the most important part of why you want to stay at CSR. Best of both worlds.

The Little Mermaid rooms have a very, very long walk from everything else. And they just don't look very comfortable to me. The CSR rooms will have bigger rooms and bigger beds.

I will say the opposite of the previous post and stay at CSR then resort hop over to AoA to look at the character decor. You can take the skyliner over there from DHS or Epcot and eat lunch/explore the resort.

CSR. AoA is super cute, but then you have to sleep in a really uncomfortable, loud room that is furthest away from everything else at the resort. There is plenty of cute theming in the parks. Pick a comfortable place to sleep. CSR has a ton of theming.

CRS for a mountain of reasons.
It’s your 40th birthday. Go where you want to go. Treat yourself! :goodvibes
Your 6 year old will be happy, no matter where you go. :)
The mermaid room is not that exciting.
Exactly... The LM room will be exciting for the first hour. Then you have to stay there for days. ha
With all the new additions at CSR it's a no brainer in my book.
