AoA grand opening stay Dis Podcast

I’ve been going back and listening to some old podcasts and thought I’d listen to their review of the opening of AoA since we also stayed there shortly after opening in 2012 and this was before I found the Dis.

I thought it was funny when they said the price was $294 per night and while they liked it didn’t know if it was worth that price, then fast forward to today and I believe it’s somewhere around $530 a night and sometimes more.

Yeah, it's crazy. It's around $400 a night now - up to $550 on some nights.

For a Value resort? Is this because they are family suites?

For 2021, the Mermaid room goes up to $350 (most nights fall between $200-300) and the family suites up to $801/nite (most nights fall between $450-650).

We’ve tried the Mermaid room twice but the family suites seem very overpriced to me. My best friend stayed 1 week in the suite with 3 daughters (5ppl) and I understood the decision but personally I’d have rented 1BR DVC instead.
