Hello! We have booked 9 nights in WDW (:yay:) at Wilderness Lodge for the beginning of December. I'd like to pay the package off while the exchange rate is still so good. I've thought about getting an ANZ travel card and using that to pay for the hotel. Has anyone used one of these at a disney hotel before? If I use my Aussie visa to pay I get slugged with a 3% foreign exchange transaction fee.
Any advice? Thanks!!

I used my travel cards fine at Pop earlier this year. I had both ANZ and an AMEX one.

Why not apply for a 28degrees mastercard?:goodvibes
No foreign transaction fees on purchases and a very good exchnage rate. :thumbsup2
We use it on all our overseas holidays and international online purchases.

Thanks for the replies! I don't suppose either of you used it to pay for the hotel before leaving Australia?

Looks like we'll be at WDW at about the same time Ms Shuttergirl! We're there Dec 3-12 :santa:

we love our 28 degrees card and it works perfectly for us.

we used it while we were in the states. we also used a commbank travel money card. the travel money card was used to prebook all our flights, accomodation, tours, tickets and so much more and as it was in usd, no fees or exchange rates etc. we found we didn't have any issues using the travel money card from australia, and when we came back... we just used it here to use up our $ left on the card.

we loved it :)

not sure about the anz as we had commbank, but if they are anything at all alike, i doubt you would have any issues whatsoever.

We've had no issues using a Commbank travel card at Marriott and Hilton chain hotels (we usually prepay for WDW hotels).

That 28 degrees MasterCard looks very cool. I wanted a card I could load with US dollars now so I could secure the exchange rate, but the MasterCard looks interesting for when we are actually over there. It sounds like a travel card will be a good idea to pay the balance of the hotel. I was just worried about putting a bunch of money on a pre-paid card and then finding out Disney doesn't accept them:confused:

I've used the Travelex Cash Passport VISA card for several years - am happy with the exchange rate and the low fee Never had a problem with it. NAB have finally come out with their own card too (they were selling the Travelex card) and I may swap so that it is tied into my online banking.
There is no real excuse for foreign exchange fees and foreign ATM fees anymore with the plethora of cards available. disney have always accepted mine.
