Just wondering if anyone knew a place on or of site that you can rent wheelchairs for the entire trip. My mother left for her trip friday with a little back pain. It has now gone into her leg to the point where she can barely walk. Anyway, yesterday they rented a wheelchair in Epcot, but they were wondering if anyone here knew where she could get one for the entire trip. They are there til friday. She just wants to be able to enjoy the rest of her trip and then go to the doctors when she get home.

There are places to rent wheel chairs at each of the parks. I'll move this over to DisAblities so that maybe someone over there will have some tips for you.
Hope your mom feels better soon.

I'm not sure about wheelchairs, but there's a place in Orlando called Randy's Mobility that we rented an electric scooter for our entire 10 day trip last year. They do have a website that you could get their phone number from. I believe it's Randysmobility.com. Give them a call to see if they have regular wheelchairs.

Or if you are onsite ask at guest relations at your resort and they can loan you a wheelchair for the remainder of your stay

Here are some phone numbers plus the web sites:

Lisa gave a real good piece of advice; if you are on site, check first if the resort will loan a wheelchair for the rest of the trip. Otherwise, you can call one of the places listed. They will deliver and pick up to the hotel.

thanks to everyone for all your help. i sent them a text message telling them about trying at the resort. they were at AKL the last two nights and are checking into BWV tonight. I am sure that they will try there first. Hopefully it is nothing serious, its just too bad it had to happen down there.

the resorts will loan you a wheel chair for free. I used one the last 3 days of our trip in Sept., being very pregnant and having to take frequent breaks really slowed our party down. I held out as long as I could. I really didn't want to use a wc, but I was so tired towards the end of the week. And you know what? DH said it was a super wc, easy to roll! I was glad in the end that we did it. It was nice to be able to keep up with everyone. Made all of the difference. :)

Hope your mom is feeling better. It would probably be best to go ahead and use one even if she is feeling better. Walking is good exercise and all, but that much in such a short time might irritate her condition. Just a thought.

Hope they have a great trip!

I just wanted to mention that the wheelchairs loaned by the resorts are first come, first served. You can't reserve one ahead of time and there is no guarantee that they will have one for you. But, most posters have reported that they were able to get one from their resort.

Thanks again for all your help. My mom got one for free from the BWV. This helped alot because getting to park entrances was getting difficult without it. Shes trying to make the best of it. She just sat on the porch at Tony's yesterday and watched the people. She had been then about 20 times so the rides are not that important. I told her to just enjoy herself downthere, its better than being up here in the cold.

Glad to hear. Aren't they lucky they left you at home so you could find out all this info for them?;)
