I may be wearing a cooling vest when we got to DL in late August; In order to recharge the cooling packs I'll need access to a far amount of ice water for about 20 minutes at a time...or a fridge. Is there anywhere in the parks where I could reasonably count on getting enough ice and water 2-3 times a day? Or leave a spare pack in a fridge and swap a couple times a day?

I know the first aid stations will keep meds cool...but do they keep other things cold as well? (Yes, I know...call and ask. I'm phone deaf, though, so I figured I'd ask here first. Waiting for the Spouse Thingy to call could take for.freaking.ever.)

I've never seen a place that would that give you that much ice but it sounds like a fantastic way to stay cool. I'm at DL today it has been brutally hot. I'd kill for a vest full of ice today.

I would ask at the nurses first aid station. If they dont have it handy, they could probably get it brought over for you.

I'm hoping it'll be fantastic; I don't have the actual vest yet but should have it to test out within a week or so. I don't handle heat well at all and deciding on DL in August was probably insane, but... DISNEYLAND!

If push comes to shove we can walk back to the hotel, but I'd really rather not have to take that much time since we'll only be there day and a half.

You might be able to get large drink cups filled with ice water at the self serve drink stations. Then you could empty the cups into the cooling packs. There are drink stations at Rancho Del Zocalo and Plaza Inn at DL and Smokejumpers and Boardwalk Pizza & Pasta at DCA. That's what we usually do with our Camelbak backpack.

I'm curious...how much ice and water do you need? I think the large cups hold 32-ounces (or 4-cups). Those are available if you ask at the CS locations (but you have to specify you want a large because the default is a smaller size - either the regular (20 oz) or the children's cup).

I think I could recharge them in a gallon sized baggy with 32 ounces of ice water. I still haven't the vest yet (ordered, hasn't shipped) but the cooling packs look like they're about 3 x 5 and there are 4 of them. If I can get that much ice water at once, I think I'll be set. We've gotten the tiny 1-ish ounce cups from counter service places before, didn't realize I could ask for a larger size!

Thank you...I'm 90% sure 32 ounces will work.
