Anywhere close to FW to watch the NASCAR race?

so, we are headed to Fort Wilderness in March of 07. We have ressies for a non-preferred full hook-up for the motorhome. I had no idea we would NEED the tv while we are at Disney. (besides for a few Disney movies for the kids, who needs tv at Disney :confused3 ) Well, appearently I have committed a NASCAR sin as we will be camping over a weekend that typically airs a race. So, experienced Disney-goers, is there a place where hubby can get his NASCAR fix at Disney? Any of the eateries anywhere close to FW that have tv's that might air the race?

Any help or suggestions would be appreciated. (I've already tried to change to our ressies to preferred, THEY ARE BOOKED, I'll try the whole "piece a preferred ressie together thing" but thought this might be easier and cheaper)

There's probably several close options. You can take the boat over to the Wilderness Lodge or the Contemporary and check the bar/lounge area. If no one is watching any other sports, you can probably switch to the NASCAR race. Also, from the Contemporary, you can hop the monorail and check the lounges at the Poly and Floridian.

You're best bet would be to catch a bus over to the Boardwalk and head to the ESPN Club. I'm sure they'll have the race on the TVs. But, that isn't as close, and may be very crowded depending on what other games are on opposite the race.

March won't have any football, so I think there's a pretty good chance you'll be fine wherever you choose to view the race ... Personally I'd choose the ESPN club for the atmosphere.

There is a TV at Crocket's Tavern (or there was in Jan 2005). I'm sure a NASCAR race on a Sunday afternoon could be put on. I think they are open in the afternoon.

As far as Crockett's Tavern...only a few stools to sit at the counter to watch the race and I am not sure what time they have someone there, if I remember in May they only had the bartender there at 4 pm. You also are at their mercy if they have or want the race on. In March, Nascar is on NBC if I am correct and if you brought a small TV and had an antenna on your camper, you "could" pick up the local channel.

We bring our Portable satellite dish on a tri pod. We are Nascar junkies too!

The best place to view nascar races is at Disney's Wide World Of Sports.
Take bus to Disney MGM Studios and transfer to WWOS bus.
