Anyway to maximize the DVA bonus?

So free dining has come and gone, and now we know our total trip cost. At this point we are around $3800. I have been using the DVA to accumulate Disney Gift cards and will be making the payment once my account reaches 120 days. Given that there is a $20 bonus for every $1000 spent, and gift card purchases do not count towards that spending; I guess there is no way to "pre-pay" an additional $200 in credit towards drinks and souvenirs (mostly drinks ) to get another $20.

Any thoughts?

What are you willing to spend $200 on just so that you can get another $20? MNSSHP tickets? MVMCP tickets? a Keys to the Kingdom tour?

Personally, I would just abandon the idea of spending that much just to get a $20 Disney GC on this go round. That $800 overage can apply toward your next vacation spend. IOW, if your next vacation costs $3200, then you will have spent a total of $7000 on qualifying purchases and you will get 4 $20 GCs the next time.

Oh, I didn't realize that it would carry like that. That makes sense. I just know from experience that we always have over $200 in charges, so thought if we could prepay it would be less out of pocket on the trip. I like that next trip, the $800 will still be credited towards the bonuses.
