WAsn't thinking and purchased roundtrip airfare PIT-MCO for September.

The departure PIT-MCO is now a ding fare but return is not. Anyway to get the Ding fare or should I have originally purchased them as 2 one-ways?

I would call SWA and ask first, just to make sure, but I don't see why you can't just cancel your 1st ressie and apply those funds to purchase 2 one-way tix. Has the return leg gone up in price? If so, then it may not be worth it. This happened to us before so now I just book only one-ways. Good luck!
btw, we're flying from Philly Sept/Oct and got $49 to MCO and $39 to return home! I love SWA!
Their tel. agents are very helpful too!

Unfortunately yep the return went up significantly since we purchased.

I guess I shouldn't be too upset, I got $54.00 departure and $79.00 return, that isn't too shabby!

I just booked flights on SW for Jan. The CR told me that if the fares went down, you could switch them for no charge. You should call and ask!

I made the mistake of booking our Decmber trip as a r/t at first. Then a sale came out. Our trip to MCO was available at the sale price but our return flight wasn't available (at the sale price.) well, I took a chance and cancelled our first flights and re-booked as one ways. Boy was I surprised when after cancelling, our return flight was then listed as available at the sale price :cool1:

Right now, we have $59 each way from PIT to MCO. I am really hoping for $39 each way (like I have for my Sept trip.) I have noticed alot of Ding fares for PIT/MCO. I don't know when your trip is but have you checked the Southwest sale to see if your return flight is on sale? Southwest Sale

Unless you are travelling over a holiday, you will probably be able to get much better Ding deals from PIT to MCO :thumbsup2

When I originally booked PIT-MCO for October -- I too booked a round-trip. A few weeks ago, a ding came out for the MCO-PIT leg of the trip. I could not change over the internet. I did call southwest and after fighting with the agent, I got them to cancel my return flight of the round-trip. Then I was free to use my electronic funds to apply towards the DING fare and still have over $100 in credit for our Jan trip.

I told the agent that when I booked, I tried to book two one-way flights over the telephone. The agent then said I would have to book RT. But if a DING or lower fare came out, this could be changed.

Good luck!
