MY DH and I are looking at saying onsite at PP at the end of this month/beginning of next month. We had SoCal APs and the AP rate isn't too bad ($150/night standard vsaround $110/night at most of the walking distance hotels).

We've got 2 young girls (ages 2 and 4) and I'm pregnant with #3 so we are looking for a close hotel.

We've never stayed onsite at DL before, but have stayed onsite at WDW (Pop Century) the past 2 Septembers.

We don't really know much about the DL hotels really because we've only been to DL twice and stayed offsite both times. We've never really looked at the DL hotels because they've not been in the budget for us (one trip we used free hotel nights we had from our move and the other we stayed at a hotel that was pretty far away). This time however it could be in the budget, and we've thought about even doing Concierge Level ($222/night) since this is a short trip, 3 nights, and will be our only "vacation" this year.

We'll be celebrating our oldest daughter's 4th birthday and my birthday.

What are the perks of staying onsite? Conceirge level? Anything else you think I should know about PP at the end of Feb./beginning of March???

You will actually be across the street from the GCH. You can cross the street, then cut through the GCH and either enter directly into DCA or enter DTD and walk down to DL. Get all that?:rotfl:

We've stayed at PPH and it was a lovely experience. I would stay there again in a second if the rates would come down for the time we go.

We've never done concierge level but I know there is a continental breakfast type deal offered and drinks and snacks offered throughout the day. I'm not sure if it would be worth the price difference in the rate.

Dh and I have stayed at PPh many times and love that it is close to the parks. I also agree with what PP has said. Although the concierge is nice because there are food/snack as well as beverages served through out the day. It was nice to know we could go back and get snack mid day or at night.

PPH is our favorite of the 3.

Staying onsite allows you to send purchases back to the room (available the NEXT day). It gives you access to any Magic Morning during your stay, including the day of check-in (if you are there that early) and check-out, assuming of course either or both of those days are MM days. :)

The pool there is VERY basic, and the slide is actually more convenient for your kids' ages, as it doesn't end IN the pool. That's if you would swim at all.

FWIW, the offsite hotels across from the main entrance to the esplanade over on Harbor are CLOSER than PPH and DLH, and if you count getting to the room at the Grand, the hotels right across the street are likely equal or closer to the Grand's rooms as well. So if closeness is huge, onsite might not be the best for you.

I have heard that Concierge at PPH is great; better than DLH, at least. Best part when we did concierge at DLH was that you got bottles of water from the fridge, nice and cold, and you could take them with you. It was our most pleasant trip yet, because we were SO hydrated!

We have stayed here 3 times & couldn't complain about anything. We really like it.

One great thing is that you can watch the fireworks from the rooftop (where the pool is at). They play the music & it is a very different experience than the one you get at the park. Just come about 10 to 15 minutes before, grab a chair & enjoy. :goodvibes

Cross the street to GCH to get into CA park, this is super convenient because it is so close.

If going to DL, take the monorail from Downtown Disney & you will arrive to Tomorrowland.

Like mentioned by bumbershoot, pool is basic, but the kids really enjoy that
slide.

Overall, very nice.
