This wasn't scary for me, but I'm sure it scared the daylights out of my grandmother. (And I KNEW BETTER than to come home and tell my parents...they'd never have let me go with grandmaw again! LOL!)

When I was about 7 Grandmother took me to the Magic Kingdom. (Just the 2 of us. From Louisiana to Orlando. Spent ONE DAY at WDW.) I got on the skyway. (The ski lift looking buckets...is that what it was called? Skyway?) She didn't want to ride, so since we SAW THEM COMING BACK, we just KNEW it was a *round trip* kind of ride, so she let me go alone! I got to the other end and had to get off. Didn't panic or get scared in the least. I decided the lines were TOO LONG to go back and that it would take too much time to wait in the line. So I WALKED  all the way back to where the ride started. (I had left from the part that was by 20,000 leagues ride) I just kept looking up and following the wires back. WHY somebody didn't stop me and ask if I was lost is beyond me. (I was always small, so I probably looked like a 4-5 year old then too!) Maybe because I probably didn't appear lost. (Except for that whole being ALONE and walking with my head towards the sky thing. :rotfl: )

Anyway, I made it back safe and sound. This was in the summer too and it was CROWDED! I don't know how long it took me. (that whole no concept of time thing when you are young. :rolleyes1 ) My grandma just seemed relieved. We went on with the rest of our day and NEVER brought it up! (As in EVER! LOL!)

So, any scary, distressing, shocking or bizarre Disney moments for you guys?

Your Grandmother must have been scared half to death!!

A couple of years ago DS was about 13. it was the end of the night teh crowds were leaving in droves. I stopped in the emporium to pic up pictures. I had the baby with me as well as DD13 and DS13. DH and DS13#2 were at the gates waiting for us. We all had cellphones accept DS#1. Well DD13 asks if she can go wait with her dad I say yes. DS starts hounding me so I tell him to go with his sister to his father at the gate. Well he didn't catch up with his sister and instead of going to the gates he decided to go to the car! Yes, this was summer busy season at the end of the night! My heart was in my throat! I come out thinking I am going to meet my family at the gate and show them the beautiful pictures. Well, everyone is there but DS! Noone else was looking for him because they thought he was with me. He was no where to be found. Finally, we spotted him with a CM whom he was trying to convince to let him back in to us. Of course the CM wasn't about to let a teenage boy in the park after hours. I don't blame him. Thank God my DS was there safe and sound with a CM. I was so happy, relived, and angry all at once. Oh yah, that's right Mrs. C. you don't get mother of the year this year either! Ah, but atleast I can still be in the running for next year. ;)

We me DH DS5 and DD4 were on Tom Sawyer Island 2006 DH stayed at the dock to rest and i ran around with the kids well we were in the fort playing around. I was going to wait for them in the center while they playeda bit. The went throught the part that said escape. I had no clue where it led. Heart starting to beat a little harder. DS comes out little sis is no with him. I like where is Guiene?! so DS leads me through the escape to the back of the fort be the water pathway. There is DD running back to the escape playing with other kids. I guess i should of went with them the first time to see where it went.

Another scarry monent was not at WDW but at a Chuck E Cheese parking lot. We were on vacation with my parents , grandparents, and cousin and her family. Well here we are standing by the cars. I get all paniked "Where is ElsaCraig?!":scared1: Everyone looks around to see if she is with someone elese in the herd. They all look back at me. Im holding her hand. I have never lived that one down. Evey time we go somewhere someone has to ask Where is ElsaCraig?. That was 5 years ago.:rolleyes1

We were at Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party in 2005 with some friends (who have a daughter who is four months older than Katie. They were both 3 years old at the time) and we had just finished riding the Pooh ride. I realized that I left my bag on the ride so we said goodbye to our friends (it was our last ride of the night) and went back to get it. On the way out of the gift shop, we were walking back to the stroller parking and saw our friends little girl, Emma. She had a funny face and I thought that she was laughing at seeing us again after saying goodbye. We approached her and she ran to us. It was thn that I realized that she was bawling (not laughing like I thought). She was totally lost from her parents and VERY happy to see us. We were just getting ready to call her parents when they found us and were reunited. They had already alerted the 'Castmember' emergency service but luckily she was found by friends!

The most shocking thing I've witnessed happened a week ago while we were at MK. The fireworks had just ended and everyone had started to make their way to the buses. My mom, DD5, and I had just rounded the corner to get in line for the bus pick-up and there was a woman standing there with two small boys. She was standing there with no shirt on whatsoever. Just her bottoms and a black bra. She was bent over digging in a bag and then ever so casually pulled out a new shirt to put on.

She honestly could not have picked a worse time and place to change her shirt. My mom was so appalled and actually made a comment similar to "OMG there are children out here! Put a shirt on!" and the lady responded saying "Yes yes I know I'm pathetic!" sarcastically as if my Mom was a jerk for saying something. But I mean, on what planet do you take your shirt off at Disney World in front of hundreds of people just to change your shirt? Like she couldn't walk a few hundred feet to go into the restroom and change. :sad2:

Needless to say, that is my most shocking moment at Disney World. :rolleyes

:scared1: My most shocking moment was in the Crystal Palace for dinner with my DH and DD. Winnie the Pooh grabbed a waitress from behind and proceeded to hump her. They were over by the kitchen door, and I guess assumed that no one could see them.:scared1:

Must have been quite a feat doing it in that costume, or does it have a trap door, sort of like Dr. Dentons?:rotfl2:

The most shocking moment for me involved other Disney guests. We were leaving Disney MGM after Fantasmic to got back to our hotel. When we boarded the bus it was standing room only and not a single adult volunteered thier seat for my then 4 and 6 year olds. It was kind of amazing to see adults sit there and watch us while we were trying to help our small children keep their balance. Needless to say next time we will just wait for another bus if there are no seats available. My husband and I have always given a seat up for those who need it more - the elderly, pregnant women & small children. It just doesn't feel right to me to sit when I know someone else needs the seat more than me. But you have to just let those things go and not let the shocking or bad thing ruin your magical time.

My sister saw a man beating his child outside of a restroom area. Not just a spanking but a beating. Her children saw it too. My sister ran to find a CM and after doing so left the area without waiting to see what happened next. Needless to say, she and her two kids and husband were very shaken up about this.

My son who was 6 years old at the time and I saw some guy beating the tar out of his girlfriend at POP. He first threw her into the glass by the doors, then took it outside in the bushes. I parked my son in a chair and ran to find a CM who went outside and found them in the bushes. By this time, a maintence person had found them also. So sad anytime, but at Disney?:sad2:

Wow! Those last two were so sad. Forget my bus inconvenience! Sometimes I think the stress of having the "magical time" gets to people and they just lose it. That's not an excuse just an observation.:confused3

We had just finished our meal at Kona and we were waiting on the monorail..A couple comes up with their 2 children..One a girl and the other a boy in a wheelchair. I am not sure what was wrong with him, but he was whining because he wanted some of his sister's Sprite. She hands him the Sprite and he goes to drink it and he spills it on him..Well his father starts yelling and yanks the bottle away from him while screaming about 2 inches from his face and then he proceeds to throw the bottle of Sprite over the railing instead of putting it in the trash can...I felt so bad for that little boy and his mom just put her head down and said nothing. I am gonna assume this is regular behavior in their home by the way she did nothing...:sad2:

My oldest DD was 4 at the time. We were in the World of Disney store checking out. DD was sitting the carriage and i was paying for my items. I looked down and she wasn't there. I started to panic. Myheart was pounding. It was 8:30, the store was crowded, it was dark outside. Where was my little girl? I left everythign where it was and started looking everywheree. I yeeled to m y mom and husband to find her. I still had my DD3 in a carriage too. A plain clothesed woman saw the panic in my face and asked what was wrong. I told her that my daughter went missing. She brought me over to guest servies who called security. The plain clothesed woman was actually undercover security too. They asked me what she was wearing. My mind went blank. Then i looked at my little one and said that she looked exactly like her. I always dress them the same when we go to anyplace that may be crowded. It was a godsend that day. They found within a minute. It was the longest time in my life. She was laying in the plush. She had never wandered off before and i still can't beleive she did it while i was right there.

In 98 on our Honey Moon DW and I where riding TOT and a 6 yr old was in line by herself. We didn't realize until a CM loaded her with us thinking she was are kid. She and DW and had a good conversation she was the sweetest kid. As we exited the ride she could not find her parents, so we where about to find a CM to find her parents. Then they show up, and really begin to lay into her. We told a CM to watch because it looked as if it was about to get violent. She looked as if she wanted to go with us I felt so sad for her. From what we gather she told them she was going on again. They must not of heard her and realized she was gone or went and did there own thing.

Two stories for me...first we were at Wilderness Lodge. My sister & her family had gone to Whispering Canyon for lunch. The "girls" all went to the powder room and left my two 6 y.o. nephews with their dad. Apparently while we were walking away one of the twins decided he needed to use the facilities and dad told him to go with us. Unfortunately, we had already disappeared. When we came out of the powder room we found one twin and dad in the shop, but where was the other boy??? Sheer Panic set in. After about 10 minutes of searching (& no assistance even after asking from the CM's) my nephen came wandering into the lobby - he had exited the building and walked around the pool. Thank god he didn't decide to take a swim alone!

I was shocked at the result of another situation. My DD12 had saved up all of her x-mas, b'day and misc $ to take to Disney (about $100). She insisted on carrying it all with her. We had played putt-putt by Blizzard Beach and were on our way back to Pop Century when DD13 suddenly announced that she couldn't find her purse. The bus driver immediately put a call out to other bus drivers - but sadly no response. My sister & her crew got off the bus at Pop Century & ran to report it to the desk. My DD13 and I stayed on the bus to return to the blizzard beach bus stop. We checked at guest services and SURPRISE...the purse was there and with all the $$. We never knew who to thank but I can tell you both of us were very grateful and happy to see real "magic".

When my nephew was 5, my DH, sister, I and the nephew went on the family raft ride at Blizzard Beach. It was faster than we thought it would be and my nephew tried to stand up and jump out. We had to hold him down, first pull him down and then use one leg to hold him because I had to use at least one hand to hold on to the raft. It was so scary because if anyone has been on this you know if a 5 yr old who can't swim fell in front of this raft he would probably have gotten really hurt. Then afterwards he fell over in the wave pool. It wasn't that deep where we were but the wave was so strong that I had a hard time getting to him. DH jumped and reached him. The odd thing is he was right next to us until that wave came. In the few seconds where no one could reach him or hardly see him my stomach was so sick.

We lost our then 2.5 yo in Epcot. We were in "the UK" and you know how the shops are all linked together there? Well, we were going from shop to shop and there were 4 adults and 4 kids, and she hopped out of the stroller to look at the Thomas the train stuff, and each adult thought that the others had her, and wwe continued a good 4 shops down before we realized that she was gone. I felt like I screamed for her and looked for about 10 minutes (I'm sure it was more like 2 or 3) But I ran in front of the photopass photographer taking pics of people with Pooh, screaming her name. I finally found her holding a CM's hand in the shop with all the Irish stuff. She just kept walking until she found someone with a nametag just like I had told her to do. I have never felt so panicked in my life.

My DD was about 8 or 9 and we were in line for Haunted Mansion. The doors open and they let us in, but my DD was busy looking at the scenery. As we were going into the stretch room I looked to grab her hand and she wasn't there. I started to scream for her, I stood at the door way and won't let them close the door. They kept telling me I had to move, I said I wasn't going anywhere until I found my daughter. There were about 6 of us still in the stretch room looking for her because it was packed. They finally closed the doors and I told them they had to open the front doors so I can look to see if she was still standing there. They wouldn't open the door, I had to go around the building to get out, squeeze back through the line to look for her.
When I spotted her, I saw the terror in her eyes, she was so scared.
Thankfully she just stood there when she realized she didn't see us.
She was looking at the cemetary and when the doors opened everyone pushed through and she got stuck behind.
You know I never let go of her hand the rest of our trip.
I was never so scared.
