Anything New This Week?

i have been lurking on this board for a while, posted a few replies, but never started a new thread. i hope this request is okay.

My husband was in a very bad traffic accident last Monday. He is lucky to have survived, but his leg is in a brace and he is in a lot of pain. This last week has been very rough. It's silly, but i really love playing this game on a regular basis. i'm not good at most of the skill-based games, and have not been able to create a fun room, but do love just dinking around, and also enjoy seeing the great rooms others have created.

i have not been able to find a moment to get on this last week. Tonight i tried too late to log on, and could not get in. i have read that visiting the dragon may get you 100 points instead of just 20, but if anyone else has the time, i would love to hear what i have missed in the last week. Any new costumes or pins or games?

Don't know if i will be able to log on to the game tomorrow, as we have doctor appointments all day. But i hope i can.

Anyhow, thank you in advance for any new news.

The only two things I can think of is:
1) The dragon has been giving 100 points from Friday through Monday. I was kind of surprised that this lasted past the weekend.
2) There was a new Peter Pan hat with hair in Emporium Specials from Friday through Sunday. It was gone on Monday.

shrinkydinky, I'm sorry to hear about your husband. He (and you) will be in my prayers. I have an extra Peter Pan hat, and I'd be willing to give it to you (not trade, just give it to you). Just let me know. My VMK name is SorcererDonaldD. I'll be in the game tomorrow night from prob. 9 or 10 until closing, and the same on Wednesday. I won't be online Thursday through Sunday due to Thanksgiving.

The Peter Pan hat is, well, interesting? Once again they have added hair to a hat. In my opinion, it looks much better on the boys and looks like a flower bud on the top of a girls head. It is cute though, and makes a great accessory for all those little Santa's Helpers I have seen!

I did not see your VMK name on our sticky list at the top of the page. You will have to let us know who you are so we can be sure to say Hi.

Good morning, shrinkydinky!

That is terrible news about your husband, but I'm so thankful that he survived it and his injuries are not life threatening. I am praying for you as well as him, because I know that this is just about as hard for you as it is for your husband. I hope that the right combo of pain meds will have him more comfortable in no time.

Don't worry about the new stuff on VMK. Like SorcererDonald (she is sweet!), I have several extras of the Peter Pan hat, and will have a bunch of the new ones from this weekend as well. Let us know when things have calmed down for you and we'll get you fixed up on VMK.

It might not be just as you had planned, but you will certainly have a little extra to be thankful for this Thanksgiving Day!

Oh and if you will be offline this weekend coming the Reversed Trucker hat comes out on 11/25... and will be in the Emporium- probably 500 credits like the other hats were this year.

Wow, thank you all so very much. What a great group of kind-hearted folk you all are! i sincerely appreciate the kind thoughts and prayers, as i know those positive vibes really do help.

i also appreciate the update on what i have missed. Thank you SorcererDonald for the offer of a hat, and deba for offering to get me fixed up when i get back into the game. i will be happy to trade something for the Peter Pan hat. i'm not so into pins and room stuff, but love the costumes. i got extra costumes during the Halloween sale in case other people needed anything, so can trade costumes or room stuff for what i have missed.

Sorry for not signing in with my vmk name on that mentioned thread. i will try to do that tonight. i'm Shrinkydinky in the game, too. i may not get on tonight, as i'm pretty tired from a long day of doctor appointments. And deba, you are right that being a caretaker can be almost as stressful being the injured party. i cared for a disabled mother for 12 years, and that was a bit overwhelming at times. But at least i got a lot of great experience with how to maneuver a wheelchair - which is coming in handy now.

Anyhow, just wanted to say "Thank you all so much!" for the warm welcome and good wishes. It really, really means a lot to me.

Sorry, one more thing . . . we got to an orthopedic specialist today, and it looks like the damage is just soft tissue. It will be a long recovery, but we got good meds, referral to physical therapy, and i think the long term prognosis is good. Plus, my husband gets to be home for the holidays to recover (no stressful job to worry about).

So this Thanksgiving will be especially meaningful.

Thank you so much. i would love a Peter Pan hat. Since my husband is getting a little more self-sufficient, i've been able to get onto VMK for just a little while (long enough to try a round at the Haunted Mansion game and fail miserably).

i probably won't be able to get back online today, as i have a couple obligations, but i think my Sunday is clear. If you will be online tomorrow, i can make sure to hop on when you're there and meet you. By the way, i'm not a super early riser, and am on PST.
