Still don't know exactly when we'll get back to WDW, but we're looking at October 2005. We want to do the MNSSHP and I wondered if there's anything else going on at WDW during early October that would create bigger crowds (which we're trying to avoid!). We would NOT be there Columbus Day weekend.
Thanks!

We've been in Oct. for the last two years and love it. The crowds are nothing like summer or Christmas (which are the other times we have been there). We even went to the sold out Halloween party this year on the 9th I believe, and it didn't seem bad either. We were there Columbus weekend, and like I said, that Friday MNSSHP was sold out that night, but it was the only one other than the 31st. That was the only thing that made it seem like a holiday weekend.
Epcot also has the Food and Wine Festival going on which is nice.

We were there in 2004 for the first week of October. There were 2 MNSSHP (the 1st and 3rd). There was also the start of the F&W Fest. It began 10/1. That will make Epcot more crowded on the weekends. So, if possible plan your Epcot day(s) for during the week. Other than that it was a really quiet time. MNSSHP at that time of year was wonderful. We had gone at the end of the month and it was a zoo.
We didn't really encounter too many crowds. The weather was still alittle too hot for me, but a great time nonetheless.

I was also there during Columbus weekend 2004, and agree that besides Friday night, it was fine. We would go during that timeframe again in a minute. (and we might! lol)

Food and Wine fest is going on, so Epcot may seem slightly more crowded, especially during dinnertime on the weekend, but it might just feel that way since the booths take up extra room!

Early October will be fine, even if you are there Columbus weekend. Maybe we will see you!

If this year's schedule is anything like last years, the Food and Wine Festival will be in it's first week and they will likely have 2 MNSSHP's scheduled.

We were there the 1st week of Oct last year, and it was WONDERFUL!!!!

Oct is a great time to go. Just keep in mind alot of schools now have the extended school year & get a fall break the 1st 2 weeks in Oct. Still way better than going in summer.

We went last Oct 9 - 16 and are going back this Oct 1- 8, so it must not have been too bad!!! :earboy2:

The weather was great last year, hot enough to swim, but not too hot for the parks. Crowds were manageable. We enjoy the food and wine festival and love the Halloween Party (watch out for the headless horseman!!!) Other than maybe early December, this is our favorite time to go!!!!

This sounds good to me! We are going 10/06-10-10. Our last trip was the first week in Dec 2003 and besides the cold it was great! I was worried about the crowds around Columbus day but this is a surprise trip for my DH bday so I could not change the dates. I think it will be fine! Thanks for all the info! :teeth:
