If so, are you as nervous as I am? DH is in California, he'll be flying thru Houston to the Valley of Texas later this afternoon/eve. I just called him about the new flight rules about carry-on things, and apparently everyone there already got the info. But I'm still concerned. Partly because he has an awful habit of his business running late, so he races to the airport. I hope he allows extra time today! I'm sitting here alone, worried something's going to go wrong. Please tell me others have family flying too.

I have two co-workers in Moscow, flying out tomorrow through JFK. I'm nervous and they are both petrified to get on the plane.

Sounds like your husband's tardiness might be the only problem he'll have. IMO, they got this before it happened and the liquids ban and extra security is being proactive. I applaud the measure, even though it will mean extra waits when I fly on business next week.

Safe travels to him - he will be in good hands!

My dear friend and her daughter are up in the air right now! SHe is flying out of Newark and actually was on TV walking behind a person being interviewed! Anyways, she and her daughter age 13 are headed to Arizona. SHe has been contact me with throughout the whole process. She flew out of Newark, and took 20 minutes to go through. Everyone had to take their shoes off, she said she wished some DID"NT!!! Got to find a giggle somehow! Her daughter is very upset and I attemtped to comfort her as much as I could via phone.

She did note that you had to get into the airport by the bus only. No, they would not permit her to bring her contact solution and was only to happy to dispose of it there. Other than that no problems. She did chat with securitly who said at 4am it was crazy there. Everyone is getting moved along nicely and all are being prayed for.

Did I sit and have a cry today with my morning tea? YOU BET!!! The fact there are those that are so filled with hatred to want the destruction of this great land I love is heartwrenching! SO I have CNN on while I scrapbook our last Disney vacation and pray in silence. Staying in a happy place!!!! Gotta tell you this scrapbook thing is a great distraction for me first time and wow was I knocked down in my local crafts store! I now know what I will be spending my GODLEN years doing! LOL!

Anyway, parayers for you and DH and alll those with friends or family. I am pleased with the new restrictions on flying. I am a NY native who lost some dear folk that day and remind myslef how blessed I am to live in a free country! Our soldiers will be on double duty today and they are proud to be! That being said how this will impact my families travel, this just knocked out any hope of flying to Disney this PAril, finally had DH ok to fly again.

Oh well, thre could be worse things I worry about in my life!

All the travelers and families are in my prayers, I pray they know some peace and comfort in knowing that they are being thought of today!

My aunt, uncle and three cousins are flying from Louisville to Vegas today and were completely terrified about flying before all this stuff came out so it I know they are really worked up now. They are supposed to call me when they land, I just hope they didn't have too much of a delay in security. And yes I have been worried sick all day.

Today is probably the safest day to fly that we've had in a long time. Arrests, making people check almost everything, etc disrupts things not just for the average traveler but for any terrorists that might have plans. Also, the planned threat wasn't for today according to everything I've read. A dry run was planned in a couple of days, but the threat wasn't today.

My sister and her boyfriend flew to WDW today out of JKF in New York. I drove them at 7am and at that time there was NO noticible added security yet. I guess at that time they were still sorting everything out, I can only assume they ahve since added security checks outside the airport, etc...

My parents and I fly out next thursday from EWR (Newark) and now I plan to get there EARLY!

No worries here about flying, live your life and some things are just out of your control.

Yes, DS is flying from MSP to Houston and should be arriving at 5 p.m. This ishis second attempt to fly to Houston in two weeks!. Last time he problems with weather.

He has an oil company interview.

herc.

My DH is (hopefully) on his way home as I type. He's flying from Moline, IL, got to the airport over 3 hours early, and his flight to ORD was going to be delayed so they suggested he try standby-he was able to leave on an earlier flight! That means he'll be at ORD for 4-5 hours before finally coming home, flying into Albany. I just want him home!!

Three of our daughters friends from college(Ohio University) flew today. Two from Pittsburgh-MCO had no delays, and landed right on time at 3:30.

The other friend was suppose to depart from Detroit airport at 11:55 AM. She had no delays at security and all the passengers were at the gate 90 minutes early and then Southwest tells them there plane is going to be 3 1/2 hours late taking off. She had a connection in Nashville, wouldn't make it so Southwest put her on on a plane to Chicago Midway.....make a long story short she missed that connection to. She is now in the air and 45 minutes from landing at Orlando airport. :sad2:
