Anyone with an ESTA Visa - what did you upload for the online check in?

Just got an email from DCL about my friend's visa 'photo'. I just put her passport photo in there twice. The ESTA is electronic and not stamped in her passport so am not sure what Disney wants. There was no place to add the Visa Number. I'm sure I can resolve it at the port but in the meantime . . . .

They never asked me for my ESTA. Is that new?
Since Covid and the whole online check in proces. You have to indicate whether you are US citizen, permanent resident, visa holder or esta and need to upload it. Upon arrival in the terminal you cant do the quick check in downstairs but you get redirected to the desks upstairs for chexk in. Overthere they need to see your esta print… i wonder why cause how would you make it to PC if you werent allowed into the US?

I screenshot the application page which shows name, DOB, passport number & status with authorisation approved and haven’t had any issues on multiple sailings, as mentioned it will also need to be shown again at port but the same screenshot is fine to show and print out isn’t necessary

Thanks all! Question: How do you know you have to go upstairs? Does someone direct you or are there signs for foreign passport holders???

Yrah with a orint i meant -evidence- not necessarly a hard copy. Its not like they -trust you- or have access to the system like imligration when you enter the US.
Still very weird for cruises leaving from the US imo and wasnt the case pre covid…

I took a oeint screen of the esta approval and uploaded that each cryise, never had an issue
My Swiss friend sent me a photo of her ESTA letter. But I tried to enter it and the STUPID online website wouldn't accept it. Said it didn't show the entire page? I tried 3 times. Called Disney. First of all the woman doesn't know about foreign visitors. Then she said my friend could only show up 90 minutes before 3:45 for check in even though we already have a port time and boarding group. This was when I asked her if we could just go to the port with her passport and this ESTA thing. EVEN THOUGH she will already be in the country.

I told the poor Cast Member that Disney is assuming that everyone has a SmartPhone and everyone has a printer and everyone is tech savvy. I asked if there was someone I could talk to or write a letter to. I don't think she knows about real letters. "We have nothing like that." She said I could talk to the IT department but my friend did the best she could with the technology she had available to her.

It's SO FRUSTRATING!!

Plus, I am no longer seeing the Quick Reply box on this website???

I am ready to buy my own canoe and paddle around on my own . . . .

As Charlie Brown says, ARGH!!!

THIS MAY BE A DUPLICATE . . . SORRY!

Thanks Princess Shmoo! I am really struggling with technology and you can't really argue with a computer. Time to break out the egg nog . . . in vast quantities!

I don’t know what she sent you as we don’t get ESTA letters, if she logs in to check the status of her ESTA preferably on a phone or tablet as I find it screenshots all the correct info better than how a computer shows it, then screenshots from where it says in big letters authorisation approved, a bunch of text then details from name down to expiry date of the ESTA then should be sufficient, I’ll try upload mine as an example (just need to cover my info).
Also the CM is incorrect, you’re fine to show up at the PAT you have booked, make sure your friend has this screenshot with her as she will be asked to show it again

Thanks DisneyBelle! Thank goodness for this forum as DCL is no help. I even said to the CM - so my friend has to wait until the ship is almost ready to sail so that YOU can figure out why your IT folks can't seem to read this document. Heck, it's not even a person. It seems to be a programming issue? Thanks for showing me what you have. What my friend sent seems very official looking. The 21,00 is the $21 she paid for it.

Translation:
Your travel authorization has been approved and you are eligible to travel to the United States under the Visa Waiver Program. This does not guarantee entry into the United States. A Customs and Border Protection (CBP) officer at a port of entry has the final decision.

AND THANKS TO EVERYONE HELPING ME WITH THIS. AND I THOUGH THE COVID TESTING WAS STRESSFUL . . . .

it is very interesting yours got denied cause thats EXACTLY what I sent in but then in English. My friends looked a little different in the horizontal way cause she sent the actual confirmation e-mail while I went online and printed directly from the site...

The issue might be that it’s in German. Which is how it presents if you have your device set to German. The language can be changed on the website. It’s on the very top. If your friend can change it to English. Then go and get her records, print that out like she did with the German version, then the system might take it.

It’s ridiculous anyway that you need it. It’s for re-entry at the end of the cruise that DCL needs to make sure you have it. But every official ESTA documentation says that you don’t need to show anything to anyone.

I can only assume the issue is like Flossbolna said, because it’s not in english because everything that’s needed to be shown on it is right there
