Good Morning Riddlers!
to the riddle.....here is the 411 on how to play everyday.....complete with rules and riddle history.....
First...how to play.....
Every weekday, a riddle is posted by a different poster called the Riddle Goddess. This is a big responsibility which involves FINDING a riddle that EVERYONE will like and have just the right degree of difficulty. A daunting task I assure you!
You then....read the riddle.....and PM your answer to the Riddle Goddess who posted it. After the Riddle Goddess reads your PM with the correct answer....you will receive your TU.....aka as the THumbs UP ....which is a picture (usually of Mickey) with your name above it. This means you are correct and you are IN!
If...you don't know the answer to the riddle.....feel free to ask around or read the posts for "mints" which are what we call HINTS. Sometimes they are subtle and sometimes they practically give you the answer.
If you still need help.....just post that you need a mint and one will come winging to your PM box....from someone!
The most important part of the riddle...is the FUN. Stay...post....have a good time. We are a very friendly welcoming group and we enjoy new people. Some of us however have been riddling a long time and know each other well....but we are willing to explain any inside jokes. (Kinda like Im doing now)
One little warning or word of caution: the riddle is addicting... some days, it will cause you to get NOTHING done. Because well, fun is hard to stay away from...isn't it?
Some terms to define:
Mints=Hints
Mr. Google= your friend some days
the Wooooo Hooooooooty: this is the appropriate jubilation ceremony for reaching the 100th post of the day. People fight for it. We don't always make it but when we do...it's a great source of riddle pleasure. We like lots of OOOOOOOOO's in it! this is NOT however...the PURPOSE of the riddle
the Tooooooty Hooooooty: this is what we do when we reach the 200th riddle post. Because well, who can stop at just one?
TU = thumbs up ....riddle answer correct!
Riddle Goddess: the riddle hostess of the day
Some other rules that I haven't touched on.:
1. The riddle goddess is always right. (even if you think you have the right answer...well, if it's not what she is looking for....then that ain't it)
and please try to remember that sometimes the Riddle Goddess has a life too...outside the riddle! {{gasp}} I know! but it's true!
2. Loubon is always wrong. (and don't listen to him when he complains about Mr. Google). We love him though so sometimes we let him think he's right.
3. Posting a Hi whether you know the answer or not is a must. Because we get attached to you and well, we like to make sure you aren't dead if we haven't heard from you in a while.
4. IF you are the first riddler in...you get Marching Mickey and you lead the parade of riddlers for the day. It's your responsibility to take the rest of us somewhere fun! We like to go new places and we like pictures...lol!
5. The last rule is ...have a good time, be nice to others while you are here and if you have a lot of outside business to discuss with someone from another thread, etc....that's what PM's are for. (monopolizers are no fun) And don't forget to laugh. Cause that's what we do.
