I called the Universal # and they quoted me $234 w/tax per night w/AAA std view. Sound a bit much! I'm not worried about the view, they usually upgrade me to a waterview/park view (maybe cause I am a platinum Loews member). I don't remember ever paying this much. Ahhh...I remember the first time we stayed here it was $114 a night w/Ent, that was nice! They after than I think it was like $129, then $154..then now!

I love RPR. I don't think I can pay Disney $234 deluxe resort, but I will give my $$ to Universal, the ambience cannot compare to Disney's Poly. PRP is definitely a true deluxe to me (this is my opinion only). To have FOTL...Oh yeah..it's worth it!!

See my sig?

I priced a Feb. trip today my dates were not available. RPR did have dates open at $119.00 weekday and $149.00 using the APH code. Lots of winter breaks for schools during this month so I found many dates were sold out.

Good Luck!

I'm staying at Portofino Bay for $149. Got a free upgrade to Deluxe with AP. Prices go up on Feb 18th as it is President's weekend.

I will be there 2/21-2/26. On 2/21 I am paying rack, 234. From 2/22-2/26 I am paying 198.90, under the "stay four or more days, get up to 25% off." This is our first trip and we are dying to go, so are willing to pay, but not at all excited or happy about the rate. I have been visiting these boards daily for months now. I figured I was armed and dangerous with the knowledge to get a great rate. So much for that!

Thanks for replying. My date is for Feb 14-19 for $234.
Prices go up on Feb 18th as it is President's weekend.
Even before the 18th, it's already high! I hope I will get another upgrade just to make me feel a little better about the rate.

Telly, I hope you have a wonderful trip to Universal!! :):)

Thanks Trish! I know once we're there, the cost will probably won't bother me much.

Try orangevacations.com then call Universal with the rate they gave you. I was able to get RPR for $168 & HR for $199. I took RPR, otherwise they were giving me $234.00...we are going the same week as you. We will be in Orlando 2/13-2/20

Did you try splitting the stay? Getting the first few days priced.. and then the last once the price difference comes in? Just an idea.. sometimes that does help! Good luck!

Kathy

We are staying at RPR February 15 and 16th at the APH rate of $149 for three adults (my son is 18). I decided to buy an AP because it was actually cheaper that way. I don't really need the AP, but because of the discounted hotel rate, it is a savings of about $60.

antmaril, did you buy ap for the whole family or just for you to take advantage of the dicount? How much is the ap? Thanks.

Valentine, I am splitting my stay between WDW and Universal, but I am not going to split my stay at RPR where I stay there at the beginning then do WDW and back to PRR.

Actually, not what I meant.... What I meant was... call back RPR and book your stay there in 2 parts... sometimes if the rate changes within the time you want to be there.. you will be charged the higher rate for the entire stay.. and if you book it as 2 separate ressies.. you may get a better price. For example.... you want to stay at RPR for 3 nights.. say... Mon, Tue, Wed. The price is say.. 200 for Mon and Tues... but 190 for Wed.. because maybe a discount code starts on Wed that wasn't available for Mon or Tues. Most hotels will charge you the higher price for all 3 nights since they usually will charge whatever the price is on your originating night. So.. I find that if I play around with the dates and talk to the agents asking if there are ANY discounts available at all for ANY of the nights I want individually.. I can sometimes get a better rate. This works especially well at Disney where rates can vary drastically from the beginning of the week to the end. Good luck!

I have the AAA $159 for early Feb., but we won't be there when you arrive. I hope your family has a wonderful vacation, Fantasia.

That is how they did it for me. I have two separate ressies because no discounts were available for 2/21, hence the rack rate of 234. My second ressie is under the "stay 4 or more days and save" for 198.90. Now I am considering cancelling and booking thru hotelkingdom because I can get the 198.90 for all 5 days. It would save me $51 after taxes. That's a meal for us!

Fantasia: I am buying one AP in order to get the discounts - $179 according to UniversalOrlando.com. I have one 5 Day for the Price of 2 that I haven't used yet and I bought one Three Days for the Price of Two from AAA for $94 (plus tax). We are staying three nights at the Boardwalk Inn at WDW and then two nights at RPR. We've done all the parks many times, so we just pick and choose what we want to do. We were supposed to be on the Disney Wonder, but I had to cancel last week. Long story. Anyway, since we have airline tickets to Orlando, we've decided to do the parks a little and have some fun - get away from the Michigan winter for a few days!!!

Thanks Kathy for clearing it for me. I knew I was misunderstanding you. My fault. And what you said made sense. In order to save, sometimes you have to reserve two seperate dates to get a better deal.

Thanks for sharing d4est.

antmaril, sorry you have to cancell your Wonder trip. I'm sure there will be a next time. I hope you have a wonderful time at WDW.

momof2inPA, you also have a wonderful trip!

I have to check out Hotelkingdom... seems to be getting some good rates for folks! I actually just called to price RPR for February.. and as an example of how rates change drastically... I got quoted 234 for one night if I arrive 2/11 . If I move my trip up to 2/10 the rate is 119.

Wow that is a big $$ difference! I just keep saying to myself for $234 with FOTL, I can justify that rate. But of course, it would be nicer if the rate was lower!

We are paying 210 with AAA rate. With taxes I think that's the 234 price. We are staying for one Saturday night before we return to New England after our cruise on the Magic. DS16 will get a chance to play at both parks with FOTL. DH and I got two year APs the first year of the Burger King offer. That has proved to be a great deal.
