Anyone who is a travel agent mind 'talking' with me?

I am not in need of a travel agent, BUT it's something I have thought of for years as a potential job for me. I have an accounting degree, but it's not something I feel happy doing and I guess I am blessed that I can now try and get into a field that I might enjoy..

I can imagine that travel agent's don't have an easy job, especially now with the economy and the ease of booking trips online.

If anyone is willing to 'chat' with me about what it's really like to be a TA and give me advice, would you please PM me??

I am not a travel agent. However I know several "former" travel agents. It can be a lot of hours and low pay. Some are able to make a living at it. In this case, I know of 2 people who just couldn't make a living at it. Both were hired at my employer for $10 an hour, which both said was more than what they averaged as a FT travel agent.
