I know they keep well away, but Ivan was so huge

We sailed (9/7) right after hurricane Frances and the seas were no problem. Wave heights during most of the cruise were .5 to 1.5 ft. at best.

Don't worry and have a great cruise!

We cruised on August 22nd-26th right after Charley just before Frances, the seas were very kind to us, lovley and smooth although we did watch some fantastic electrical storms way off in the distance.

Just got off the boat yesterday. Smooth seas. Go figure!

It's a BIG ocean. A hurricane in one area doesn't automatically mean another area is rough. It's over 1500 miles and several islands between Cozumel and St. Thomas for instance. Remember how long we watched Ivan before he got near the US.

Our cruise during Hurricane frances Was great..

Totally flat seas...

All but 1 day, and that wasnt bad either..

Go have fun..Dont think about the Seas...

We were on the same cruise (8/28) as MoranClan. The Captain did a fantastic job keeping us away from any rough seas. In fact, we never had a day of rain! The only "rough seas" we hit were coming back through the Gulf on Sunday 9/5 at the tale end of Frances. A lot of people were taking Bonine and Dramamine, but we never saw anyone actually getting sick, and the dining rooms were full! So enjoy yourself and don't worry about it.

We just got off the Magic yesterday. No rough seas at all! It did rain in San Juan (just showers) but otherwise wonderful weather. The captain steers the ship well away from any really bad weather. So while everyone on land was trying to dodge Ivan we had smooth sailing!
