...could you compare those times periods for heat and crowds?

The past 3 times we have gone to WDW in mid August. But for several reasons, I am considering going this June from the 9th or 10th until the 18th or 19th. Will there be a huge difference in travelling at this time?

I consulted the UG's touring guides and they have the June time frame listed as an '8' (on a 1 to 10 scale). The August time was listed as '7' & '6.'

Anyone have any thoughts on this?

I found mid june to be quite a lot busier.. but I last went mid june in 97.. and I went last year mid August..

Heat wise, I would say they are about the same - but June is less humid than August. August - can be very humid. Last trip we experienced the hottest day of my life I think (well it felt like it cos of the humidity) in August., Still, we are going back this year mid august so it cant have been that bad!!!

Our visits in June were definitely more crowded than our visit in August. Lots of long lines. However, we found it to be way too hot and humid in August so we won't go again during that time. I dont know if it was just when we went that it was extremely humid but we were melting. I would say if your concern is the crowds go in August. If you cant take the heat, go in June (or the winter months. Haha! :rotfl2: )
:)

I agree completely. We found that June is much more crowded; August is more stiflingly humid. We prefer August because we'd rather deal with more humidity than bigger crowds!

I think mid august is less crowded because many US schools now go back into session about that time. However, we think there are many more foreign tour groups in august than in June and they can be hard to get around just because they travel in a clump. We like August for crowds, just plan to take a midday break or if you're without children and just need an afternoon respite we like to plan our sitdown meal for about 2:30 or 3:00pm, gets us an hour or so out of the hottest part of the day in a nice air conditioned space where we can hydrate and relax.

June is less humid and the park hours are longer. The disadvantages are that it's "Regular" Season, so the rooms are more expensive in Orlando, and the crowds are more dense.

Mid-August is less crowded and rooms are cheaper BUT you'll "sweat bullets", as my DS13 puts it, and you'll see shorter park hours. You're also pretty much guaranteed a thunderstorm every afternoon.

It all boils down to what you think you can live with. Personally. I'll put up with an afternoon thunderstorm and shorter park hours if it means fewer people and cheaper room rates. Yup! We're going back in August 2006!

I found both times to be crowded (although, with a little planning not unbearably so) and hot. The difference to me was that in June it only rained once, while in August it rained every single day of our trip.

I have been the second week of June, last week of June and late September.

Being from the south, I can tell you that August and Sept. are our hottest months (heat and humidity). May and June are the most bearable for outdoor stuff. By mid July through Sept. we are miserable.

Just thinking about Florida in August, one word for me uhg!!. :sad2: Now you could be saved by the rain showers, as we were in late September. :worship:

Good Luck :rose:
