Anyone watching The Parent Test?

I am fascinated with this show. They are looking to find the best method of parenting, and have 12 families that each use a different method. They have shown the first six episodes. In each episode thus far, they look at 4 families, and put them each through 4 parenting tests (each group of 4 takes 2 episodes) - looking at how parents deal with fear, danger, communication and such. After the videos of tests, the other groups of parents can comment and ask questions. Once all tests have been discussed, they invite them to leave, and discuss with the other families (just parents), and each family ranks the 4 families. Then the eliminate the lowest ranked family. That family gets to continue with voting and commenting, but is out of the running of the best parenting style.

It is interesting to see how different we all are in our parenting styles, and the similarities. I was surprised to be wrong on one of the eliminations, but the other two were the same I would have voted out. It is causing me to wonder what my parenting style is? lol. I have never put a name to it. I just call it parenting. I guess I would have to put it as a cross of Traditional and disciplined, but we have aspects of the scheduled and free range!

So is anyone else watching... and what do you think?

I have been watching. It’s interesting and I’ve really enjoyed it.

In the last elimination, I would’ve eliminated child-led. There seems to be some merits to each of the styles.

Yeah, I thought for sure the child-led would be eliminated. I think most of us (including those shown on tv) really often parent with a combination of styles.

I will say one thing I was surprised about was how one of the styles I thought would do really well, seems to actually be really lacking. I don't remember the specific name but it's the single dad, who seems great (high achiever) family maybe. His son seems so lost, indecisive, and seems to have such a lack of confidence in himself. I can remember thinking that seemed like an intriguing style, but it doesn't seem to be working in that specific situation in my opinion.

I watch the show it's interesting but I just don't understand the ng family letting their son do what he did with that knife acting like chuck he could have hurt himself or his parents by acting like that I think that that's the reason why they got eliminated. Because that behavior is much too dangerous
