Anyone watching CNN with the Live Interview of the Mother that beat her child?

Oh please I am sure no one on this board meant literally the women should be shot it was anger of seeing that baby beat, as old and wiser then everyelse oh great Eros surely you knew that! She should be prosecuted and held accountable that was not just someone that lost it she looked around and made sure no one was looking she knew what she was about to due to that child was wrong and if she would due that in a parking lot imagine what she could due to or has done to that baby at home. Sometimes you don't see the scars of child abuse on the outside.

I The part that got me, was when she said that it wouldn't have been as "big" if she wasn't part of the group knows as the travelers.

*******
How much do you all know about the "Travelers"? Aren't they a group of gypsy "shysters" who move around and do dishonest work, esp catering to asphalt and roofing for old folks? I believe they also marry off their daughters VERY young(like 14) to much older men of their group.
If she belongs to this group of people, I can understand how this woman feels she is doing no wrong.

As a physician I am a MANDATED reporter............... that is, I am required by law to report any suspicion of child abuse to D.S.S. (Massachusetts Dept. of Social Services). I HAVE DONE SO on several occasions.

I've seen children who were starved and left in filth because their parents were substance abusers. Not a pretty sight. However, I've NEVER vilified such parents the way most of you have on the DIS.

First and foremost we have an obligation to protect such children from further abuse.

Secondly, their parent(s) SHOULD be prosecuted and offered counseling if they are receptive.

However, casting hate and aspersions upon them as many of you have only reminds me that the DIS is much less about compassion and much MORE about vengeance :( :( :( ......

You know what Mickey's Sunshine she probably was an abused child herself, so she probably already knows what it feels like. Her parents might have shown it to her at an early age.

Possible?

Of course it is but that is no excuse for what she did. She needs help, some serious help as does this child to stop this vicious cycle.

I worked in a daycare where 90% of the children were abused in one way or another and most were in foster care. Those poor children - they were so innocent and the HORROR stories I could tell you would make you ill!!!!

Anytime Eros, and BTW, I tend to feel sorry for people who have to pretend to be something they aren't on a Disney message board. Those people's lives must be so lonely and sad.

LOL......we actually AGREE about something. :D:D:D

Most here truly are all about "lightness and Pixie Dust and family and Magic", but there are a few "pretenders" who ACTUALLY are very DARK and devoid of compassion. I feel sorry for them as well ............

An assumption on my part, but I think we all know who is DARK devoid of compassion.

Not me. I try not to slow down for wrecks on the road either.

EROS...exactly what kind of Doctor are you?

If he is a doctor and that is a big IF , I'm gonna have to go with proctologist. He seems to have a keen sense of that area.:D :D :D

A: Poke'Mon!

A truly sad situation. Hopefully the mother and the child will get what they need. Does the mother need punishment or help? I don't know. But I was always told not to judge somebody until you've walked a mile in their shoes.

I believe EROS is a doctor too, and probably a really good one. :)

What I don't understand though EROS, is why you have so much understanding and tolerance for a parent who would physically beat and emotionally abuse their child out of anger, yet you show little understanding for people who are expressing anger over seeing such a horrible incident. I don't get it?
