I know it was a re-run...I must have missed it the first time around.

Omg...where do they FIND these people?

I was REALLY surprised that the 'tree hugging" mom wasn't already a vegetarian...just with her strong beliefs...didn't think she would go near meat. And she was really...uh....umm...how do I put this. Flakey?

The other mom...the southern one...well, if anything, I guess she learned to appreciate her hubby a bit more.

Yes it is a re-run. I did not watch last night, but saw it before. They have interesting guests!!!!!

I watch it. I hadn't seen that one before. The tree hugging family was amazing. The daughter was a complete brat and the house just disgusting. I also can't believe how hysterical she became about the dogs being outside. Or how upset she got about having to clean :confused3 . The southern mom was a little over the top with the yes ma'am, no ma'am stuff but I actually liked her having the daughter do chores. I have to say I would have kicked that southern husband to the curb :rotfl: .

The Southern mom I found to be rather rude and condesending - *especially* at that meet at the end. I didnt care for her, what-so-ever!!!

And yeah - the "Tree Hugger" was a bit odd - but seemed genuinely nice and kind. I like seeing that sort of genuine-ness (is that a word?) in someone.

I watched it. I never watch the show so I didn't know it was a rerun. My usuals were replaced by the Olympics I watched it.

The tree hugger woman was nuts, her hysterics over the dogs outside was laughable. BUT I will give them credit because both her and her husband TRIED. He wasn't happy about it but he did do the changes and did apoligize when he knew he behaived badly. I was annoyed that when he brought the other woman flowers she hardly said thank you and just complained about the dirty vase. While the daughter was a brat the other kids weren't much better, they were just shown less. I'm glad she had to do some chores but the southern mom was being a little slave driver-ish with all the yes mam, no mam.

The southern dad was ok in the begining but then he really just angered me. You've seen the show. You can't cooperate for 5 days? It's not like she burnt and distroyed your stuff. I'm sure they got it all back when she left.

I also didn't get the southern mom's deal with the American flag when he had a confederate flag at their house?

BOTH families were over the top. It always amazes me that these are actual people.

OH yeah - forgot about that. Yeah...the tree-hugging-hubby (hehe) TRIED to make amends...she she basically spat all over it. So wrong.

But really - I don't have an american flag hanging in front of my house...does that make me a bad american?

In my over-the-top crazy home owners association community we are not allowed to display flags of any kind. Not even American flags. Guess we are bad Americans and our association board are REALLY BAD American since they banned the flag.

What man cries over a woman telling him to clean a vase???!! What is wrong with these people?? (Well, I know he didn't cry at cleaning the vase, he cried about all the "negative" the Southern woman brought into his home.)

The tree hugger's house was disgusting. What a waste of a life she leads too....wakes up at 10am, watches TV, only cleans once a year (doesn't even DIS!) :teeth: Plus just doing a few household chores was just killing her!! She said she's never spent a Saturday like that (cleaning) or would never spend another Saturday like that (cleaning.) Maybe she should try a Monday! Clean your house you freak!

I didn't think the Southern wife was all that either but at least she cleaned her house, she worked outside the home & she entertained & had some sort of order in her house. That tub of lard she was married too was disgusting though (I'm a Pooh sized lady myself so I can say it). He just wants to be hand fed by his woman. Can you imagine when his wife saw the program & hears her DH saying "I wish I was married to a woman like her." (Or something on that order...)

The one good thing that came out of both families experience was that each husband grew a stronger bond with their children.

I do think the show searches far & wide for people that are way off the top though....makes for good TV. Look at it, we're all discussing it here, right? :teeth:

I didnt know it was a re-run but I watched it. Both ladies were over the top but if I had to choose which was the worse it would be the tree hugger hands down. I know she didnt work but did her hubby work? Her house was DISGUSTING! I cannot find fault with the southern lady not wanting to eat there. The southern lady was more "normal" and just because she insisted on yes ma'am and no ma'am and gave her children chores does not mean she is a slave driver. Where I grew up, it was customary (and expected) to say yes ma'am and etc. (mine do). I know some do not understand this but do not "judge" me and I will not "judge" you.... ;) I give my children chores and I expect them to be completed and they are given an allowance.

The husband of the Southern lady...... :confused3 I do not know how else to say it but he was a poor excuse of a man.

I did not care for the Souther Dad's comments that were along the lines of ohhh my new wife is hot and I wish she were my real wife.

Tree huggers at the meeting were a joke I always laugh so hard during that meeting. My dogs are outside no no no my dogs. You were mean to my child what.

Wasn't one of the best shows though but always worth a laugh or three.

I can't believe that show. The woman who doesn't clean or hire someone to clean. Terrible!!! The DH's of both should shape up to. What is uup with the dh's gross hair?

I thought the southern Mom was very normal. I don't put it againist her or anyone who doesn't share a room with a snorer. HE does need to go to the doctor, they have many things to help now a days with snoring. I know it has helped my father a great deal and my Mom because of the treatment.

I wonder if there was something else besides the snoring that kept them apart? I would be really pissed that my dh did nothing except sleep, hunt and fish. I really did think she was a lot more "normal" than the tree hugger. I thought she seemed more upset about the fact that her dogs were outside than she was with her dd being treated "badly". My kids must of thought they were really treated badly then because they were expected to help out around the house.

I have heard (rumer alert! :listen: ) that he has seen a local dr. around here and had surgery to help with the snoring. There is suppose to be some type of follow up show on all the swaps (not just this one) and he admits to the surgery. I did not watch it last night, he reminds me too much of my ex-husband. :teeth: I did have the pleasure of seeing it before and just couldn't deal with it again.

On the other hand, my children are expected to say yes, Ma'am & no Ma'am. They are also taught to call adults Mr or Mrs (insert first name here). Is this just a southern thing? Thanks, you all! :rotfl2:

Did anyone watch the View today? They had 2 couples on that have participated in Wife Swap in the past. The one coupke was the Southern couple from last nights show.
During the View show today it came out that they were on the verge of divorce and that the Wife Swap saved the marriage. They had started sleeping together again, but he was having some kind of nasal surgery as he snored too loud and she couldn't sleep with him because of it. Joy Behar made some crack about him losing weight and he might stop snoring. :rotfl2:
She can be a little rude.

We do that here in MD. That crying over cleaning and the dogs being out of the house was a bit much. Only watched a little bit of the show but did see those parts.

We live in MI & altho my kids were not taught to say Ma'm or Sir, they are supposed to address adults as "Mr firstname" or "Mrs. firstname." If they are really close friends of ours, they may address them as Auntie or Uncle.

Besides having the snoring factor remedied in the Southern couples troubles, I sure hope he's been helping her some around the house too. He just did his own thing & counted on his "maid" (aka: wife) to do everything else. Not cool.

Well I'm glad they worked things out!
They did seem "made for each other"
