I was reading a thread on the budget board about Senior portrait prices. Wow! Some of them are pretty pricey! Thought some of you might want to share.

Here are a few of my daughter:

Your DD is beautiful. Here are some of my senior pictures from this year:

[excuse the proof on it..we scanned in to show my dad who was away and have him pick which he wants to buy]

I don't have DD16's pictures yet....her senior pictures taken on Tuesday evening, & then we were admitted to Children's Hospital on Wednesday morning. :scared: And we are STILL here. (Hoping to leave next week). Her proofs should be ready in two weeks.

Your DD's are beautiful though.

Haven't gotten DD17's done yet. They took some at school with the cape thing for the yearbook, but we didn't buy them and will find a good photographer and get some done on our own.

Here are some of DD19's senior pics from two years ago...

I still have 2 years until my dd is senior but have to say what a bunch of beauties you guys have:thumbsup2

My DS would kill me if I post his pictures... alot has changed since they were taken last June. He got his braces off, and get contacts, so we are going to retake on our own later (the school will not allow a resit)

I love all your pictures, I cannot believe how many poses you all get. We had three, a cap and gown pose, a tuxedo pose and a casual pose, all seated, all standard head shots.:confused3

Here are some of DS16, he so didn't want to have his picture taken. Even as against it as he was I think they turned out pretty nice.

They aren't through the school. You can get as poses as you want if you go to an outside photographer.

This was my son's "official" picture:

I took all of these -- the two grad pictures were out at a local park district site.

I don't have a senior but I have some that I have taken and some 8th grade shots also.

$60 sitting fee and $30 goes towards pictures with as many clothes and locations that can fit in 3 hrs.

Holy cow! Three hours! We paid extra to have some taken outside, and I think the total time was maybe 40 min, and that includes the time she spent changing. The more outfits, the more it cost. You must use the official photographer if you want your picture in the yearbook. That was 5 min. and $30. If I had known beforehand how unhappy I would be with the pictures, I would have gone alsewhere. I was not at all impressed with the school's photographer. I told dd, when we got the proof book, that with a good photographer, it should be really tough to pick the pictures because you like them all. In our case, it was tough to find ones we liked. Either she was posed awkwardly, or stuff looked like it was growing out of her head, or her smile was crooked, etc. Even on the website, where the photograoher has posted some pictures of other kids, I can find very few I like. I don't have dds pictures yet, but will post when I get them. We ended up buying a la carte rather than a pkg. 84 wallets were $160, two 5X7S, which had to be the same pose, were $88, and an 8X10 was $96. I also bought a framed 4 panel black and white panel photo, with 4 different poses, which I think was the most reasonable price of the bunch-$89. All this was on top of the $30 for the yearbook picture, plus the session fee, which I think was about $150. OUCH!!! My wallet hurts.

At the school here you have to have the official photographer take your picture, but I didn't buy those. They were good but they were just boring. It was free for them to get the yearbook picture taken if you didn't buy it.

I think I probably spent about 700 at least on DD19's senior pics. I posted a few of them above. They were incredible, were shot on two days at various locations and as many changes of clothes as she wanted. I think each day was probably 2-3 hours. I know some think that's excessive, but the quality of the work is amazing and totally worth the price I think. We got a proof book of about 80 pics and it was dang near impossible to narrow them down to a reasonable number to order.

Loving all the pictures and hearing about the prices in your area. We're running out the door in a few minutes but when I get back I hope to see more.

Not senior but graduation from 7th grade. She still looks pretty much the same. She's in the middle:

If that's you in your profile pic, she looks a lot like you!! Very pretty!

Thanks and yes, it's me in the avatar! The funny thing is Rie is adopted. Isn't it funny how this sometimes happens?

Here are two of my DD's formal pics and one prom. We also has "casual" pictures taken but never actually went to purchase them. She got business cards with those pics on them that she passed out to promote the studio and she is on their web site ads.

My daughter had hers done by her friend's mother who is a photographer. This is the one she wanted in the yearbook, but was told it could only have one person and it was too "silly" to put in. The "villain" is her friend w/a photoshopped mustache. We had it edited to just be her and then they said no because it depicts violence. :confused3:

The next one is what she submitted, but I guess she used a Sharpie and added stuff like stars and rainbows and that made the school mad, so I'm not sure if she'll be in the yearbook or not. I feel lucky I paid under $120 for the sitting fee and the ones I purchased. They took over 250 photos and it was very hard to choose the ones we liked best, so I plan on buying the cd with all of them.
