We have 3 foot drifts in someplaces around the house. We had 45 mph sustained winds (wouldn't that be tropical storm strength?) and gusts over 55 mph. We didn't lose power, fortunately, but a lot of areas around us did-our powerlines are buried).
Those are little drifts around here, unless you are shoveling them . There are 6-8 foot drifts across the roads in the rural areas here according to the State Patrol.
OK this makes me really glad we live in NE and I promise not to complain too much when DH is out in all storms working again and I am home alone (he works for the power company). Well at least I will try not to complain too much, lol. Holy moly that much snow is giving me the heebie jeebies!

Well your DH would be busy here. Our town has power but SD has about 50,000 people without power and there are several towns in western MN without power. Part of the problem they are having in SD is that the trucks can't get to where they need to go.
