Anyone visit Mondello beach (port of Palermo)?

We were thinking of heading here for the day while in Palermo. If you've been is it worth the trip and would you recommend the taxi or bus. From what I read the taxis are about 30 euros and it's only a 10 min drive. Is this correct?
