Anyone used Hotwire recently?

Has anyone used Hotwire or Priceline recently for a Universal area hotel? Any clues to what you might get in the 3 to 4 star range?

we used hotwire for the crowne plaza universal the week before thanksgiving. we paid 57.00/nite. it was very easy to see which hotel it was going to be as it was the only 3.5 star with those amenities. you can go on the vacation link on hotwire, put in your info and it will actually tell you what hotel your booking. check out the stars, the amenities, and then go back to the hotel only and match it up to hotel being offered. we thought the crowne plaza was excellent. it's very new, just as nice as any of the resort type hotels but without the theming, landscaping, wide range amenities,etc. it's also 1mi from universal straight south on universal blvd.

I used priceline and got *1 Days Inn Convention center for $30/night for this coming week.
I could have bid a bit more wisely. They offered me $40/night for a *2 but I turned them down figuring I could bid differently and then I ended up with Days Inn.
But, it is just a place to sleep. My kids are all big enough to not have to take a nap. We are on a very tight budget and I would rather spend less on a hotel and more days at the parks then a nice hotel room for a 2 day visit.

We stayed the 3* Wyndham through Priceline for $32 and the kids loved the pools.

That was June. We stayed there before and after a RPR stay. The kids liked the 24 hour pool and we went swimming at 5 am and weren't alone.
