I'm considering using either zazzle.com or cafepress.com to have the t-shirts Kelly designed for us printed for our upcoming trip. Has anyone used them and if so were you happy with them?

Thanks!
Shawn

I don't think Kelly's designs are copyrighted so wouldn't they print them (hopefully)?

Thanks!

No, Kelly's designs are not copyrighted but most places will not work with any Disney images beacuse Disney is copyrighted.

The way I understand it, is that most places will not because they are in effect receiving money for doing something involving Disney copyrighted images.

I have no idea about either of the places you asked about but just thought I would answer this question.

If you read cafepress or zazzle's terms of service, you will find you are agreeing not to upload any design with any copyrighted images in them..

Most times they will spot it and won't print them. but if they do slip by you broke thier ToS and if disney goes after them for doing it they can legally go after you.

Now WILL they if your only doing one or two shirts for yourself? I doubt it.. but you would still be on the hook for doing so if they did.

If your doing it and selling the shirts? I suggest getting a good lawyer.. lol

The only reason we can do what we do on this board is because people don't charge and its for our own use. If you use a third party (that your paying) to print the shirts, that takes out the "free" part and gets you in trouble.

Disney does have a site on zazzle though..
https://www.zazzle.com/disney

You can add text and pictures to the designs they have there, and if you get creative with designing a picture you can recreate (or come close) to some of the designs.

For example, you could make a picture (like a frame) with the middle transparent for the disney design to show through, and make it say just about anything (as long as its not anti disney..lol) and then have zazzle print up the shirt and then that would be totally legal.

As a matter of fact i think a designer could even charge or sell designs to be used on that page as long as there wasn't any copyrighted stuff in thier designs themselfs.
Think or it as a custom designed frame or whatever.

anyway.. just some info for you to use however you like!. :)

Thank you for the education - I was not aware of the copyright specifics prior to this! I read all of the copyright info on those two websites yesterday afternoon and I contacted customer service at both websites. I only want the t-shirts for personal use for our vacation and I think I've found a different website who will print them :cheer2: !

Thanks again,
Shawn
