Hi all

Was looking for an inexpensive getaway (anywhere, I wasn't too picky except it had to be warm!) and I found a website called save on resorts.com.

Has anyone used them? It seems to good to be true.

I found an all inclusive hotel in cancun for 5 nights for 4 people for $578. The only catch was we'd have to attend a time share.

what do you all think? Is it worth it?
Thanks

I don't do timeshares-I don't think a cheap vacation would be worth
it if you have to sit though that presentation.

I did a timeshare presentation for Blue Man tickets in July. They will tell you its a 90 minute deal, but it is more like 3 hours when its all said and done. If you don't mind wasting the time, its no big deal. Take a credit card that has a low limit or is almost full and leave your checkbook behind. That way you will not be talked into anything. You can also let the salesman know from the get-go that you aren't buying and maybe they will rush through to get to someone who might be a better prospect.

It is actually funny to see how much of a discount you can get when you keep saying no. I think mine went from $300/month to $80/month before they finally stopped pressuring me, LOL.

I think that they can legally only keep you 90 minutes. At that point, you can get up and leave and they still must honor anything they promised you. And that time starts from the minute you walk in the door.

Have never used that website, but another to check out would be cheapcaribbean.com.

I would check Cheapcaribbean.com also sign up for travelzoo.com. I wouldn't want to sit thru a timeshare presentation, they are hard sell people and will make you feel like scum of the earth if you don't buy.

make sure you have a way to get back after the presentation. after a timeshare presentation where my parents refused to purchase, they were told they had to find their own way home, & ushered out the door into a very poor area.
luckily, they were able to find a cab after a while, but was a horrible lesson no one in my family will ever repeat.

be careful.: if it looks like a scam, smells like a scam.....
