I just learned about Sunshine Rewards today and was wondering if anyone else has used it to get free Disney Gift Cards.

If you have, how much were you able to "make" in a 2 month period?
We are going to WDW/Cruise in September and I'm curious what I could make by then.

It looks like you can get Disney Dollars by doing surveys or by purchasing things you'd normally purchase online (but you have to use the link from Sunshine Dollars for it to register your cash back amount).

Anyone from Canada use this as well?
They gave me $2.00 already just for sining up :)

Yep, I use SR and have earned over $1000 in about two years. I earn $50 or so per month, but many members earn much more than that. It is all Disney money for me, and the customer service is the best!

I think you have a referral link in your SR link. You can post the SR website (www.sunshinerewards.com), but I don't think you can post referral links. You might want to edit that before the mods do. :goodvibes

There is a special forum on SR just for Canadians because some offers are only for Canada, while some offers are only for the US. The SR forum will help you get the most return for your participation.

I've been a member of SR since 2006. It can be a little hard to get going for Canadians, since many of the offers are not available. There are some great merchants on there though and the surveys can really add up. I would say you should be able to get at least $25 for a gift card cash out and if you do a lot of shopping or get a lot of surveys, $50 is definately doable.

If you needed to earn the money and cash out for a gift card BEFORE your cruise, I don't think you have enough time do it. It takes awhile for the rewards to post to your account and also takes several weeks to receive your gift card in the mail.

I started doing sunshine rewards in May '08 in hopes of getting a $25 disney giftcard for our Aug '08 trip to WDW. In 2 1/2months, I was able to cash out $150 in disney gift cards. I now average about $60/month and that's just from doing the 3 surveys, survey bonuses, and a few freebie offers every now and then. I just cashed out for my 1st $500 disney gift card a few months ago and can't wait to spend it on our summer trip.

If your trip is in 2 months, not sure if you'd get it in time. There's a 45 day wait period for new members to cash out and then a 4-6 week wait to recieve your gift card.

Wow do I need to read some tips on how to accumulate there. I have around $7. Where is the best place to look for tips to get going well?

Read the SR forums. You will learn how to set your computer to maximinze your chances of getting credit, which offers credit the best, which contests are going on (that frequently result in bonuses), etc.

Thank you, I never did read the forums there (other than scan quickly.) I hadn't even thought about it for a few months until seeing a thread here about it last night. I will definitely look back into it!

OP, I once got a warning for mentioning that someone PM me with further *questions* about SR, and I didn't even say that they could PM for a referral (for the record I still have no one "under" me and don't want any either)...you probably want to take that out of your message.

The forums are the absolute best for learning, and when you learn, you earn more. I started off thinking it was such a scam, but so many known Dis'ers used it, I joined, I made very little, then suddenly something big came through for me, I hit my first $25, cashed out, the giftcard was REAL, and I've been using it ever since.

I use it for Disney Dollars for our trip. Everytime I get 20 I cash out. I use for Xmas stocking stuffers for the kids WDW trip. Or I save it for mad cash in WDW!

Hello fellow Canadian.

I have not used Sunshine rewards, but do use Swagbucks and you could easily get a $25 Disney Gift card before your trip via swagbucks (if not 2).

If you are interested PM or email me for my referral.

Amy

I thought the gift cards from swagbucks were Disney.com e gift cards. I think you can only use them online. Please correct me if I am wrong.
Thanks

They are, however, being from Canada, shipping from Disney.com is ridiculous. So what I am doing (and what I did last year) is ordering some items and having them shipped to the resort. That way I can get the $5 shipping deal and some inexpensive souveniers for my Neices and Nephew (inexpensive = FREE using my Swagbucks!!).

Being from Central Canada, we do not have a Disney Store. The closest is 5 hours away!!!

Do you have a link to the Canadian forum?

Here is the thread for Canadians - I thought it was its own forum:

http://www.sunshinerewardsforum.com/showthread.php?t=15169

Tricia just posted today that they are working on getting a network of all Canadian offers to improve chances for Canadian members to earn money.

There is also a forum for new members, but I think it only shows up for you if you are a new member and are logged into the forum. I don't see it when I log in, but you can log in to the forum and it should show up for you.

I just left Canada this morning! :goodvibes

We just got back on Monday I had gotten cards for Trex and also regular Disney Cards and they all worked great. Surveys are a great way to make money every day on their.

I am really surprised that there is not an all-Canadian rewards program. It just seems a lot harder to find offers that work for Canada. Maybe there isn't as much money spent in online advertising there? I don't know. But I am thankful that Greenfield allows Canadians to take surveys because you can do two of those a day.

I think it is a numbers deal. Since there are only 35 million of us in total we are a much smaller market so are often ignored by the big guys. I've still done okay and I know you are always looking to find us new opportunities :)
