Anyone Use Earplanes??

Anyone use these? They're similiar to ear plugs and are supposed to help with the pressure inside airplanes... Thinking of getting them for my two boys - who'll be almost 4 years and 16 months old when we fly to DISNEY!

Not sure it's worth the trouble???

I have not used them personally, but my mom swears by them. She used them every time she flies.

My older daughter had no issues flying. younger one not thrilled w/the pressure and was 3 the first flight, didn't do well. We got earplanes (the adult size, couldn't find kid size) for our next flight and she did SO much better. They were slightly large but made a big difference. So now for our next flight, I ordered from CVS online the child size. Hopefully we should have no problems now.

My son loves flying, but in December he had some issues with his ears on landing. He feared the flight home b/c of it, and was afraid of our May trip b/c of his memories of the brief but intense pain.

So I got them from drugstore.com, and talked about it with him, let him know what they were supposed to do, and how we would use them on the plane.

He looked forward to using them, on on the flight down they worked like a charm!

On the flight up I forgot until about half an hour before landing to put them in; they are supposed to be in an hour before landing. They didn't work as well, and he had VERY brief but still intense pain b/c they started to not work and then he pulled them out.

But now he remembers that they worked, so he looks forward to using them in the future.


Now, whether I would use them for first time flying, I don't know. My son had no issues on his first two sets of flights. On the other hand, they are very low-tech and not very invasive, so they might be good for possible peace of mind and preventing something that might or might not happen.

On the other other hand, will a 16 month old understand having big things in his/her ears for an hour and not pull them out???

I use them. I have eustation tube problems all the time without flying, when I fly it is way worse. They work fairly well. My ears pop continously on decent, but at least they are popping.

DD5 and I both use them and they work like a charm! The kids size fit her better but she'll use the adult size in a pinch. We pop them in as soon as we are at the gate and take them out when we taxi to the gate at our destination. Fabulous invention!

I've had too many ear problems to count and these work great!
