We are staying at Pop at the end of this month and I am curious if anyone one has been able to use dial up from their canadian internet providers while staying at one of the resorts? I am with Telus and I seen there is a $2.00 per hour roaming charge that is charged.

Curious if there are any other providers that may be cheaper or offer a free trial?

All WDW resort rooms are equipped with high-speed wired internet, cable included, at a cost of $9.99 per 24-hour period. You don't have to enable it for your entire stay; simply pug your laptop in, bring up your web browser, and it will automatically go to the sign-in page. 24 hours after you sign in, access will automatically cut off, and you'll have to sign in again.

Unless you are using a local number (i.e., Orlando), you will be paying long distance to hook up to a Canadian internet provider. You may even be charged for local calls - I can't honestly remember if the resorts charge for local calls as we've never used the resort phone to call anywhere else but the resort.

We used NetZero the last couple of trips, it was painfully slow but it was free.

We called the "front desk" before we use it the first time to verify that the phone number that was in fact local. (Note: I gathered that the button on the resort phone doesn't actually get you to the front desk, but the point is that we verified that the phone number was local) There isn't a charge for local call when we did that in Sept 08 and May 09. They used to charge for local calls but no longer.
