I think I correctly guessed the winner ... but based my guess on the fact that we are going there in September to start our cruise ... don't have a clue about football, don't even like it

well apart from getting the winning team right I think I was way off with all my other guesses

Okay - after a very long wait - here are the answers:

1. Finalists were Spain and Holland
2. Spain won
3. 1-0
4. Mueller actually won the Golden Boot (because of assists) but I also gave points for Villa, Sneijder and Forlan as they scored the same number of goals.
5. 2 games were decided by penalty shoot outs
6. England scored just 3 goals
7. 17 red cards were given
8. Germany and Uruguay were the losing semi-finalists
9. 16 red cards were given on 23 June
10. 6 goals scored on 25 June

LOL don't sulk. My husband and son, who think they know football, did worse than just about everybody else!

In work the quiz was won by a spanish teacher - and I mean she is spanish, not that she teaches spanish - so it was a good year for Spain. She has promised to buy everyone cakes with her winnings though.
