My daughter (11) & I extended out our AP Mummy event weekend get-away for 2 extra days so we can try for tickets for Emeril's Live. We will be at CityWalk bright & early Monday morning trying for tickets. How difficult do y'all think it will be to get tickets? We are hoping to have tickets for the 8pm taping as 4:00 might still be to hot to just sit around watching.

Any other Dis-ers plan to try to get tickets for Monday's taping?

Did anyone go to the other series of tapings that I've seen oh tv from Universal before?

Wonder if Emeril will be spotted at Tchoup Chop, hhmmmm.....may need to eat there for lunch one day.

I want to try to go to one of the tapings but can't talk any of my family into going with me. I printed a copy of the ad I saw on the Universal site and put it on the fridge with "I want to do this! MOM" but haven't had any response. I am wondering how early you'll have to be there to get tickets?!

We will definitely be trying for tickets. Since we already have a reservation for Tchoup Chop for 7PM Monday, we will probably try for tickets Tuesday or Wednesday. My DW and I are real pumped for this as we are big Emeril fans. Since my kids don't even know they are going to UO yet, they should be really pumped too when they hear Emeril will be there.

ksdave,

Did you also notice that the shows Emeril will be taping are actually for his Cooking with Kids series. My daugher is psyched as she likes watching his shows & especially liked the cooking with kids episode she watched.

She was trying to play it cool & was :rolleyes: when I said maybe we will eat lunch at his restaurant & be able to see him in person. She knows she'd be excited to see him up close.

gluegungoddess,

the website said they will start distributing tickets at 9am at Citywalk Guest Services & the Studio Audience Center at USF (where ever that is), first come first served basis. I'm guessing I need to get there somewhere around 8:00am to get in line.

Does anyone know if I'm not an onsite guest if I will have access to the parking garage & Citywalk that early?

i am hoping to get tickets too- i think it would be something real fun and different to do

I really wish we were going to be there but we leave UO on the 23rd, just one day short. I understand it's a Cooking With Kids thing, too. My DS10 has decided that he wants to be a chef and it's all because of Emeril::yes:: He's taken kids' cooking classes and has Emeril's kid's cookbook and wants the new one, There's A Chef in My Family, for his birthday. It's a highlight of our Universal trips for him when we eat at either Emeril's or Tchoup Chop. I know he would just LOVE to be able to attend this. I think Emeril's vibrant personality has that effect on a lot of kids.

Any of you who are lucky enough to go, please post a report on it when you get back. I would love to hear about it.

Melissa;
I expect there will be alot of kids at these tapings trying to get the "counter" seats up by Emeril. I wouldn't be surprised if they do a thing like the Slimetime Live tryouts where they have the kids scream, jump, dance, etc. My kids both went to those in 2001 and made it onto the show. Unfortunately, they never got slimed, but alot of their friends here in Kansas saw them live on TV.
If memory serve, the Studio Audience Center at USF is on the right side of the ticket booths at the entrance to USF.

For all of you planning to try for tickets to the tapings of Emeril Live here is my advice: GET THERE EARLY.

I work for the network, and I can't stress enough that you should get there very early to get in line. It is first come, first serve - I don't know if it would even be allowed, but I can imagine people wanting to camp out! We receive thousands of requests for tickets to see his show live, so you can imagine that it may be crazy. :crazy:
