Anyone tried Photo books instead of scrapbooks?

I was wondering if anyone has ever made a photo book from their disney pics instead of traditional or digital scrapbooking? I really want to make a cruise scrapbook from our trip- but I dread getting started. I am intrigued by shutterfly's photobooks, but I know I would miss the disney papers, and embellishments, etc... Has anyone done these and what did you think? My computer is on the lame side, so I don't think I want to try to get into digi-scrapping until we can invest in a new one.

thanks:) Deb

I had a code for a free one. It turned out cute. Not the same cuteness level or personalization as a scrapbook. But it was quick, painless and I like it just fine for something to look through.

I ordered a photo book from Kodak Easy Share for a friend for a Christmas gift. It was of photos I had taken of her birthday party. The book was just a 5 x 7, and had about ten pages in it, but it cost just $7.99! I don't know if it was a special because I was a new customer, or if they are always that inexpensive. I know that it costs more for 8 x 10 and for more pages. But it was a really beautiful book with full page photos bound in.

My problem is that many of my pictures need cropped badly, or are so blurry that they need to be printed small to look better! (But you can work with your photos first on the web-site of whatever company you use.) You may even be able to put several photos on a page, or add other decorations to the pages.

Anyway, the photo book I bought was very professional looking, and I wouldn't hesitate to do it again! You could get one with just your best photos in it, and decide later if you need more than that. Or you could order a photo book for this trip with the idea that you will always be taking another Disney trip, and you can make your own scrapbook the next time!

I've made two with Shutterfly (12x12 and 8x8) and they turned out wonderful! The quality far exceeded my expectations. They were well made. The colors were vivid. The shipping was very fast, too.

I'll use Shutterfly in the future for stand alone theme albums. I'm using CM for all other ongoing projects.

Check currentcodes.com. They post Shutterfly coupon codes when they're available.

I did a Shutterfly book for my new puppy last summer, and it turned out really cute. It was also a quick fix since I have scrapped nothing recently!! And, it was something that I could easily take with me to show people (lightweight, etc). Great quality, too!

That being said and like I said, it was a quick fix. It's still nothing like a real scrapbook (to me) with the personalization that a traditional scrapbook has.

I do digital scrapbooking and have them printed at shutterfly. My books are amazing works of art.

I almost hate to admit it considering I have tons of rubber stamps, clear stamps, inks (dye, chalk and pigment), sizzix paddle punches, embossing folders and dies, cuttlebug dies and embossing folders, papers, stickers and embellishments galore that I have yet to do a Disney scrapbook. But I have used both Kodak and Shutterfly to print a book of our Disney vacations. Out of the two I like Shutterfly the best for it's ease in cropping and it's layouts. Most photo sites offer the photobooks. If you sign up for one or two they will send you what specials are going on. Usually you can get 20-25% off the photobooks or free shipping. The one nice thing about the photo books is the ability to print more than one copy.

I personally use Heritage Makers. I'm a consultant for them but would use them anyways. I have a 12x12 and an 8x8 Disney book template. Just add your pics. Let me know if you'd like to see a sample of it.
