I was wondering if anyone has tried Kouzzina by cat Cora yet? We are going to be eating there on Sept 17th, which happens to be the grand opening. My boyfriend is a big Iron Chef fan, so he is excited about it. We are hoping Cat herself makes an appearance. :goodvibes

Yes. In short:
goat cheese stuffed grape leaf appy = good, but small
avoid the porkchop (aka t-bone)
lasagna is great

the waiter also said the flank steak was popular

I was just down there. The food was ok but kind of expensive. It was 28 dollars for somewhat of a small dish. I asked if she would be down there and an worker said that she would be down for the official grand opening. So you are in luck!

Awesome thanks! My boyfriend is going to be on cloud nine to meet her! :thumbsup2 As far as prices go, we are DDP, so it will be free!

I loved reading the great review.....any more people try this place yet?

We ate at Kouzzina this past Sunday. The restuarant is currently in a "soft open" mode, which in the vernacular means that they are still working the kinks out. According to the staff we spoke to, Cat Cora hasn't even set foot in the restaurant yet.

Here's our take:
ATMOSPHERE: A bit vast in appearance. Some added plants would help.
SERVICE: Very good, from hostess through completion of the meal.
FOOD QUALITY: Mediocre. DW ordered the wood fired flank steak while I ordered the lamb burger. We felt both were too heavily seasoned, thus overpowering the taste of the meat. The haloumi cheese appetizer was OK, but would have been better if it wasn't breaded before searing. The greek salad was delicious. As Cat and team refine the menu and food prep, they should take care to let the flavor of the primary ingredients stand out more (i.e. lay off of the heavy seasoning). Dolmades were available only as part of an appetizer sampler; a missed opportunity to more prominently feature this core dish to Greek cooking.
WINE AND BEVERAGE: Good selections. The ouzo and sangria were exceptionally good.

I'd like to come back and try it again next year, after they've had a chance to make corrections and refinements.

Walt's review was interesting. I am hopeful that they will have worked out some of the kinks prior to our reservation in November. Oh, well - it will be an adventure!

In case anyone is interested, Cat Cora gave birth to her son about 6-7 weeks ago, so that is likely why she has not been there yet.

Understandable. I'm sure she'll be there before November. That's why I'd like to come back again once she and the staff have made adjustments and corrections.

We ate there on the 17th and loved it. Our DS and DD both had greek salad for appetizers and DH and I shared the flatbread with carmelized onions. They were all a big hit. DH had the lamb for dinner, DS had the whole fish, and DD and I had the lasgna. There wasn't a bit left for any of us. The portions were very good size. By the time we were done we weren't hungry for desert. The place is still very much set up like Spoodles with the pizza window now being enclosed. As for price, it isn't any more than any other Disney TS restaurant. We were on the DDP but when we compared that receipt with the receipt from LeCellier, LeCellier was more expensive. We will definitely go back again and were so glad to be able to try it during the soft opening. We actually had the same waiter that we have had the past two years when it was Spoodles.
