I just made Wishes (MK) FW cruise for Wed. March 30, 2005, 9:15 p.m. leaving from the BWV Marina. (Wishes start at 10 p.m., but need to get there beforehand...) :wizard:

***** UPDATED - Leaving from the Grand Floridian, not BWV !!!

We're going to be DH and me, DD-6, and grandparents. So we have room for 4 to 5 others, if anyone is interested.

Cost is $117.37 (basic package), and we could split the cost. :grouphug:

Please contact me at goldilocks_63@yahoo.com, if interested. Family oriented people please. :earboy2:

We wanted to do the Magical Gatherings, but didn't have enough people, so decided to just rent the boat. We've seen Illimunations by boat, but was wondering if anyone has seen the Wishes, and how was it.

I picked BWV pickup because we'll be at OKW, and have a car, and figure we can valet check the car pretty easy for Grandfather, who walks slooowwwwly. Plus, the lights look so pretty at night. Other pickup choices were the WVL Campground Marina, and the Contemporary).

If you are leaving from the Boardwalk Villas, then you are on an Illuminations Cruise, not a Wishes/MK cruise. They only leave from WL or one of the MK resorts. You'll be boating over land if you try to leave from BWV to go to MK.

I would definately double check on the cruise you have booked as the BW marine will not get you the Wishes fireworks cruise...It is only the Illuminations cruise...

I have an illuminations cruise booked that night out of the YC/BC can't wait...

Good Luck

I just called back, and changed the departure from the Grand Floridian Marina.

Thanks for helping me, Goldi

Other choice was the Contemporary.... anyone have a preference, and if so, why.

I would suggest departing from the Poly for a few of reasons.

First you can watch the Electric Light Parade before departing on the cruise from the benches at the end of the pier. Secondly, you can get a good cup of hot coffee before hand at Kahona's (sp?) to keep you warm on the boat. I cannot attest to it but I also hear they have great hot chocolate, so my neice would tell you anyway. Finally, I like to depart from the Poly because it gives me a good reason to ride the monorail from MK as I need to ride it at least once during each trip.

I've done the wishes cruise (doing again later this month) and my "best tip" is to request one of the new 25 foot pontoons as they have the music piped into the boat where as the 18 & 21 foot pontoons do not. This makes the show even better to have volume control over the audio, especially if you have seniors and/or young children with you.

Great tip BostonDisneyKid....I'll have to remember it if I every do a Wishes Cruise....

Hi,

We may like to go with you. We are a family of four, myself, my hubby and 11 year old twin boys. We are from Upper Michigan. I will ask the hub what he thinks. My godmother may be with us then also.

Thanks for the info. My main concern is that Grandparents don't have to walk too far, so was thinking at GF I could valet park. Do they have that at the poly?

And doesn't the Electic light parade also go by the GF, or is it too late by the time you leave for the cruise.

Thanks for any more tips you have...

Goldi

I've had a few inquiries so far about the cruise, and I'm going to take first come first served....
