Anyone taken Spirit Air out of Atlantic City?

I just decided to book an FT pkg. for August & am looking at flights from Philly. Boy am I surpirsed - they're at least double what I paid last May for USAir. Spirit so far is the least expensive with the times I want to travel. We live outside of Cherry Hill, NJ so the time difference isn't really a problem between AC & Phila. But has anyone used Spirit out of AC before & how is the parking there? I've never been to that airport & don't really know where it is or how to get there. Is if off the GS Parkway?

Any advice would be much appreciated.

tzmom....hi...Ive never flown out of there but my sister lives in voorhees and the only airline she takes is spirit out of A.C. She says that the airport is great. not too crowded.easy parking.also says spirit is a great airline to fly.She would drive to A.C. over Philly any day. Its only a 40 minute drive.Sorry I dont know the exact way to get there...Good Luck ...enjoy the trip

TZMom I live about 15 mins from the airport. If you know Route 30 (The White Horse Pike) you should not have a problem getting to the airport. You head towards Atlantic City and make a right onto Tilton Road, you will pass Lenoxx China and Blue Heron Gulf Coarses. Then a traffic light stay on Tilton Rd until you come to a circle, You will go almost all the way around the circle turn into the road that will have the WAWA on your right. Another words follow the airplane signs you shouldn't have a problem. They have a parking lot I forget how much it is. You pay inside the building so make sure you take your ticket with you and keep it in a safe place until you get back. It is a small airport. We flew Spirit last year and it was enjoyable. Approx time from Cherry Hill to here maybe a hour give or take 15 mins. depending on the traffic. You can also take the ACExpressway get off at exit 9 (I think that is the one) and go to the circle same circle as above.

We flew Spirit in Dec. and were very pleased. We avoided Spirit for a while b/c of a bad experience in 2001. We bit the bullet and flew again. AC is a wonderful airport. It is small and parking is cheap. We found Spirit to be a completely different airline than before, we felt as if the staff had a class in customer service! After our Dec. trip I would highly recommend flying Spirit.

We flew Spirit out of A.C. last May and will again next month. There is much less traffic to contend with going to A.C. Airport and parking is so much easier. We are in Marlton, and we use the route NJmouse mentioned -- it's so easy. It is a much smaller airport and, therefore, much easier to get around. I will not fly out of Philly International again if I can help it.
Also as mentioned above, the staff was wonderful, both in the airport and on the plane.

I've flown Spirit out of ACY many times, and have never had any problems with them. The airport is small very easy to get to. Spirit has a great on time departure/arrival record (I've only had one delay in 10 or so flights with them), and for the price they're definately worth it.

Hi TZMOM,
We flew out of ACY to Tampa a month ago and had no problems with anything. Security procedures were very effecient and fast. The terminal is small, but relatively new with all the amenities you would want - food places, a bar, etc. We just left our car there for a small fee and no one had to drive us. There is a shuttle if you have to park in an overflow lot, as we did, but not a problem. Just a hop, skip, and jump west of the GSParkway - can't remember exit #, sorry. Bob

Thanks everybody!!! I think I will go w/Spirit. Waiting another few days to make ressies for end of August trip. Still amazed how high the airline prices are for the 2 of us - even Spirit is $506.00 (for both.) Thanks again for all your help.
