Anyone taken a taxi from MCO to Windsor Hills?

Has anyone ever taken a taxi from the airport to Windsor Hills? My mother is flying in to join us for a few days but is arriving at 10:00 am when we plan to be in the parks. From what I can tell, it would cost between $60-$70 plus tip (plus gas surcharge, if taxi companies are doing this). This is pretty much her only option, right? Does anyone know of any airport shuttles that run to this area? I hate to have her pay this much, I may just end up leaving the park for awhile and picking her up.

My other thought was to have her rent from Alamo for one day and return the car to the Car Care Center on WDW property.

Any advice would be appreciated - thanks!

Mears Transportation is one of the bigger firms in the area.

Their taxi fare estimator doesn't seem to be working correctly, but I think your figures of around $60 are about right. (Fares depend on traffic etc).

They also offer a shuttle service from the airport. It doesn't state destinations, so perhaps they will take you to WH or WDW. It doesn't hurt to ask.

If you drive to the airport I recommend the 417 over the I4 - it costs more in tolls, but the road is usually much quieter. I can't remember what the exact tolls are, but allow $7-10 for tolls. Approx 30 mins drive each way. There is a 'cell phone parking lot' where you can wait for a call to collect (saves parking and paying the parking fees! or circling round the airport several times)

This is working on the presumption that you are referring to Orlando International Airport and not Sanford.

Hope that helps,

The tolls on 417 for one way : there's two $1. tolls and a 50cent exit toll. You need the exact change for the exit toll because it's not manned.

Faced this exact issue in February when my Mom arrived on a different date when we were staying at Windsor Hills. I did extensive research and calling. It ended up that the taxi really was the most economical and easiest way to go--around $60-65.
